This just popped into my head the other day. I was wondering what comics came out the month I was born - August 1982. I was also curious if any of them were worthwhile. Here's what I found:

Marvel

Daredevil #185 - one of Frank Miller's Daredevils, but nothing special happened.
Fantastic Four #245 - one of Byrne's issues. Nothing special.
Uncanny X-Men #160 - first appearance of S'ym

DC

Batman #350 - Nothing special.
Green Lantern vol. 2 #155 - Nothing special, but a really cool cover.
Tales of the New Teen Titans #3 - origin of Changeling/Beast Boy.
Night Force #1
Legion of Super-Heroes #290 - Cool cover. Darkseid is behind the scenes.

So how about you all? Hopefully someone else has cooler comics in the birth month than I did!

For once being older is going to help me. There were at least 6 books that weren't published in my month. So the every other month thing was going on for Aquaman, Jimmy Olsen, Showcase, Green Lantern, and Daredevil. It's a shame because Daredevil #7 is the first red costume. Except for Brave and the Bold, the following books are each over $1000.

Marvel
Avengers #16 - 1st new lineup
Tales of Suspense #65 - 1st Silver Age Red Skull
Uncanny X-men #11 - 1st Stranger

DC
Batman #171 - 1st Silver Age Riddler
Brave and the Bold #59 - Featured Batman and Green Lantern

Seems appropriate that the DC theme for my month is Batman.

Well DC was running the "DC Salutes the Bicentennial" Issues ... August 1976.

Marvel
Captain America hit issue #200
Daredevil #136 Direct Edition had the Stan Lee stamp in place of the barcode
Invincible Iron Man #89 had a guest appearance of Daredevil
Uncanny X-Men 100th Issue - 1st utilization of "FASTBALL SPECIAL" Maneuver by (Colossus and Wolverine)

DC

AuquaMan #446 - nothing special other than I own this issue.

April 1966 for me. Books in that month I’d like to own are Fantastic Four 49, Blazing Combat 3, Strange Adventures 187 and Teen Titans 2.

I have never looked into this. BTW people should know that technically all of those birth month cover likely came out BEFORE your birth month wink Even newsstands books often shipped before the cover month.

Oxbladder is correct about published dates versus time on the shelves.

For me my May dated issues would have been out in March so I need to post July dated issues that would have been on the shelf in May. That changes everything.

Meh. I was just being silly ... posting according to cover date works for me. I just never understood why it was that they really even bothered with months beyond the copyright info. Do they even print months on the cover any more? I don't pay attention to that. I doubt that anything very interesting came out in May '69.

Ok those that are interested in finding your birth month is kinda easy. Only catch is you need to know one book that came out on that month, year. Go to mycomicshop.com and use search for that book. Once you see your book listed, go to the right of the page and it will show publish date. Click on the publish date and BOOM, A list of all books published on that month, year are all listed. Easy.
