I'm developing a hot comics list for Spring 2018 and I could use your help. I'm confident that there are things that I'm missing. What are your suggestions?

Thanks for the contribution Ron. Other than adding comics as they become known as key issues, I don't know how you would improve it.

In the modern section you should probably have: NYX #3 (still garners good dollars raw and slabbed despite the hate) and X-23 #1 Dell'Otto variant (not sure of raw values but a 9.8 will get you $1200-$1500 easy) as well. I can probably come up with more but I am at work right now.

I think that's a very good suggestion Ox.
From a hot book perspective, it's tough to balance some books or characters who were extremely hot last year with new hot books. Harley Quinn and X-23 were red hot last year. They have cooled off but those books are still extremely desirable. Any thoughts on this?

Well, there is trending hot and regular hot. You have both on that list. Trending hot would be like Teen Titans #12, Amazing Spider-man #795-current, etc. books that have sold out right away and currently may be grabbing decent coin on the market but have not given signs of being established. Then there is regular hot the majority of the other book on the list. Things like Tales of the New Teen Titans #44 isn't jumping up in price in leaps and bounds it is selling well and consistently at one price level with moderate rises and falls in value. NYX #3 certainly fits in this mold. If you have The Walking Dead #1 on the list (which isn't trending up dramatically either) then books like NYX #3 and X-23 #1 Dell'Otto should at least be considered. That's the problem with using the descriptor "hot" is it can either be general or specific if you don't define it up front. things like Batman #24 and Amazing Spider-man #795 I would consider hot. Books like NYX #3, New Mutants #98, Incredible Hulk #181, etc I would almost find another descriptor for because their price trending fluctuates and often without any specific outside influence like a movie or some sort of rumor. For example, NYX #3 was going up in price long before any movie rumor or appearance. Before any movie rumors were going the book was already grabbing $300+ slabbed 9.8 and up to $200 raw. Then with the rumor that she would be in the next movie it jumped to $500-600 and then up to $850-900 then back down below $800 and when I checked a few weeks ago back over to the $800-850+ range.
So perhaps thought needs to be put into a hot-list and what may now be a solid investment/strong seller list. Not all "hot" books end out holding or increasing in value over time afterall.
