I’m new to CPG and slowly inputting my collection on this website to sell at a later point when I’m ready. I have a question for sellers with large collections, 2,500+... what is your favorite way to organize your collection? Alphabetically by title across the board? By publisher, character, series? Do you separate your minor & major keys from their respective series? I’ve been organizing strictly alphabetically by title so far but I try to keep characters like Spider-Man with Spider-Man and not by title. I’m just trying to see what everyone else does. Thank you! 1/2/2021 Topic: Favorite way to organize large comic collections BattleFamousComics	Thanks for your reply! I got about 2,500 right now, just started collecting a few months ago. Had to find a new hobby. Just going to work on organizing these and making master list on here. Work on my grading and practice with all that. However, I don’t have a lot of older comics, As in $0.10-$0.15 range. What do you recommend on how to start getting my collection up with these... not really trying to “get lucky” buying lots... some people advertise 50% off graded comics and older comics... is that something I should be buying? Or at a local comic shop that doesn’t get a lot of business... drop a couple thousand there and buy their old stuff? Not sure where to start. Thank you!

When I catalogued them into CPG, I numbered the longboxes to match the descriptions I put into CPG at the time. I don't sort or alphabetize anymore, so if I want t locate an issue, the best way for me is to look it up in my collection on CPG to get the box number and then go open the box. In the 1980's I spent way too much time shifting runs between boxes trying to keep about half of it alphabetized and sorted by issue number. Thank you for your reply. Yes indeed organizing and cleaning up collections is a lot of time!!! Thank you for the tips. Will definitely consider this once my collection gets bigger.

1/5/2021 Topic: Favorite way to organize large comic collections BattleFamousComics	Sorry, having a hard time quite replying but this is for @ basementcomics - I see, so you are saying it’s not a bad thing to pay full price on older comics? I was thinking that too. So it would be reasonable to support my local comic shop and buy their 10-12 cent comics and hold on to them for another 20 years and resell them then? I also found someone on Craigslist selling their comics 50% off including their older comics. I’m going to have to check them out. I appreciate the feedback!

If it's something you are willing to go after (and potentially sit on it for xxx years), go for it. I would stick though with titles that are showing growth. Not everything appreciates but I have seen nice uplifts in the last few years on certain titles. Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!

Display case only holds top 45+. So if I upload 100+ cover scans can buyers see the ones that did not make the display case when they search our collections to buy?
