Just went to add mine and noticed the photos for Justice League United 2A and 2B (the "Canada" and "Bombshell" variants) are reversed. Just a little confusing.

Ok, I admit growing up I hated Hal Jordan (He's better since he came back from the dead) but I always liked Kilowog. So, please add to the information for Green Lantern Corps #201 that this is where he first appears. It's time he got his due. I mean, he was even in that last Green Lantern movie thing (not his fault).

Atomika from Speakeasy press: needs link

I sent an email about this, but I think I sent it to the wrong place, so here I am again. The first 5 issues of Atomika were published from Speakeasy, which is listed. However, when I went to add my issues there are no issues listed, but it does show them in the photo gallery section. Could a link be made so we can add the issues we have?

Ok, I'm attaching a scan for the soft cover (atleast I'm trying. last time the email said "404 error" and disappeared. Not sure what to do with the link that says :attach this to the message for picture." Where in the message is it suppsoed to go?)
Anyway, the picture is for the Jim Henson's The Storyteller soft cover, which there is an unnamed link for on the site (there are two listings for this title, one with just over 100 searches that says "hardcover" and another with just over 40 searches that says, well, nothing. It says no information. I assume that should be for the soft cover. There are no photos currently for either so I'm trying to send a scan of my Soft cover, if it will work...

Ok, it didn't work but at least I copied the message so I didn't have to re-type it again.

That is a new series starting with the subtitle "Dragons". Mine is a one-shot graphic novel published in 2013 just titled "Jim Henson's The StoryTeller with a cover price of $14.95 US. It has a cover of the old "storyteller" and his dog from the short lived tv series.

I would like to know how you got the picture though! I tried 3 times and it never worked.

Just adding some Vortex stuff and wanted to mention for addition that issue #2 of Vortex (published by Vortex Magazine - that's how they list it inside the cover - , Toronto, Canada 1983) has the first appearance of Mr. X. He's only on the cover but it's all him.

Bell Features, Maple Leaf & Anglo-American comics

I have been trying to create a small collection of Canadian Golden age comics and, like many, have come to appreciate how truly scarce they are. Most sources will tell you that they estimate no more than 5-10 copies of most issues exist of the WWII period issues. Yet the prices in the CPG, the only place that any list of the issues can be found with a $ attached, is terribly off the mark when it comes to scarcity and what people will pay when they do come on the market. I can't say exactly what prices should be listed, but if others can relate what they have paid or "tried" to pay it would help. (Superior Comics, which started later and distributed to the U.S. as well is also sought after, but MUCH more common, yet the prices listed are close to10x of those for the 40's publishers.)

Here are some examples of my attempts to win some books at auctions (Comicconnect and Metropolis Comics and eBay)

For Anglo_American: Freelance #31, grade 8.0 CPG value $25 sold for $69 in 2013
Grand Slam Three Aces#45 graded a 2.0 had a CPG price of $3.20 and sold for $10 in 2013
Spy Smasher #2 grade 3.0: CPG $6 sold for $70 in 2013, #9 grade 5.0 CPG $10 sold for $125.
In 2014 I tried for two Triumph Comics (got one! YAY!): issue #13 a 3.0 CPG $12 sold for $350 and issue #13 grade 3.5 sold for $375 (no price for that one on CPG but it does have a picture). Nelvana of the Northern Lights, a female hero pre-dating Wonder Woman (just) is a popular reason for this titles popularity.

My hope is that if the price can reflect the true going rates that people won't just discard them if they think they're worthless, which I fear is what happened long ago. I know the books have gone beyond my price range (Check out eBay to see! Active comics, a CGC 7.0 #23 sold for $300 in 2013. on eBay right now is a #24, CGC 7.0 but they are now asking $2000! This is compared with the $87.50 CPG has a CGC 7.0 copy of this comic valued as) but still feel it important to give them their due (Check out the article in last years Overstreet for a great article on their history!)

Please let me know what you think

CPG does have that issue listed, but you are right it is in an awkward spot. It's under the X-Men title, and then the sub-heading for 'Giant-Size". It should have it's own title, like the Marvel Milestone Edition does (which is the same comic and title, so why have them listed seperately?)
Good call.

I was looking at the "Recent Value Change" section and saw that X-Force 4 and 11 went up in value, which is great, but both are listed at being the third appearance of Deadpool. That's an interesting trick!

The 2nd issue of Preacher is listed in the guide as the first appearance of Arseface. Great. More importantly it is the first appearance of the Saint of Killers (you know, the guy on the cover and is in the whole series). Could somebody add this?

I've been trying for a while, but figured it's time to ask. I want to add information for many issues but don't know how to do so. There isn't a link on the page and I'm not sure where to look. I know it will still need to be verified, but it would be nice to get started!

Thanks, it's a start. I didn't see the percentage bar before. However, what if there is no "plus" choice as someone has put in a small piece of information but I want to add to it (good stuff like an unmentioned first appearance). Is there a way to do that?

Jason Loo, writer/creator of the Pitiful Human Lizard (a Toronto, Canada based hero) self-published the first 4 issues (maybe 5?) before they were re-printed and continued with later numbers by Chapterhouse publishing (which is listed on the site). I'm hoping to scan these soon, but they can be clearly diffferentiated as in the top corner the publishing name is "Loo Harvest Group".

Just listing some of my comics (doubel checking really) and wanted to point out that none of Vol I's 23 issue run are by Malibu, all are still Just Aircel. Samurai: The Splinter and the Sword, what is listed as Vol ii on the ocver and was a 3 issue mini series was also not by Malibu. I need to check the issues for Elflord to comment on them, but this one I just did.

Ok, I was a big Aircel collector when they originally came out and even have some original covers (wish I had a Beauvais Warlock 5 one...), but I digress. I have had the time to reminiss going through my boxes and found that the first issues declaring "Aircel, a division of Malibu Graphics" is in 1988. The ONLY titles at that time where Elflord (vol II), Kiku San, Dragon Force, Warlock 5, Warlocks and Samurai (vol III). To be more specific the first Malibu related issues are: Dragon Force#5, Elf Lord #23, Warlocks #2, Samurai #3 (Vol III, so all the Vol II are Just Aircel), and Warlock 5 #16. All other AIrcel titles before 1988 (Maelstrom, Dragon Ring, Stark: Future, etc.) are all Aircel, the Canadian company.

Ok, on the site the "phone-in" and no-number covers are the same. They both have bar codes at the bottom right and say nothing about what to do. This one does! Right on the front in place of the bar code it says to see inside the back cover for more information.
