I agree with you about Newsstand issues being rarer in higher grades. The interesting thing about Newsstand vs. Direct pricing is that most of the time the prices are the same. When you look at a key issue, the newsstand issue is usually higher. Regular issues have very similar pricing.

Here at Comics Price Guide, we avoided adding all the newsstand issues because the work involved is staggering. We literally had to hire someone to enter UPC codes and newsstand/direct issues. That is his entire job. CGC might be waiting for someone like us to do the work of locating the issues before moving forward. They will have to do something about it soon.
