CPG doesn't list Whitman's Big Little Books. There are price guides for those you can find online. As for the Doc Strange, will need the actual title from the inside indicia, and actual publisher, and preferably a pic.

Doctor Strange is listed here: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/doctor-strange/1_comicback/sltvbr
Found it by looking at Pocket Books under the Publisher search, but if you just search Doctor Strange using 'All Types', it comes up a ways down the results too. Also comes up if you choose the 'comicback' choice, but few people would know to use that.

this/these series cause more trouble than just about anything. for some reason, if you search classics illustrated in the title field, and 84 in the issue field, you get nothing. if you put the title AND issue number in the title field, it comes up. but that's not how the search should work, so dunno if it's a programming error or bug. Or just search Classics Illustrated in the title and scroll down the results, not sure why people don't think to do that.

I cropped your pic tighter, shrunk it down some, and submitted it as a variant and it took it.

so this thread has seemed to die out, but I see many more themes have been added to the themes list. Thought Glokar was going to keep this going in the database thread, but not so far.

Sorry about that. Things got a little busy at work. Then I got distracted with some other hobbies. I'll have to see what I can do this week.

I see you started a bunch now, so cool. I'll pop in and add some now and then when I'm bored.
Note to admins: One thing to help keep them all together vs getting all scattered about all the time---maybe making a pinned thread/topic (like 'Add Theme issues here') or better, a separate forum for them under the Price Guide Research section would be appropriate and more organized, as this could get to be a huge amount of comic pics. would save people scrolling past more posts they may not care about in the Database forum too.

Adding some tips like 'please check the themes list for ones already listed, https://comicspriceguide.com/themes , ' and some guidelines like Ron posted in his Announcement post. helps save time and duplicate posts. have at it folks..

Classics Illustrated works a little differently. It is keyed off the HRN (Highest Reorder Number), which is the number on the reprint order form on the back of the book, or inside the back cover. It is a little weird. So, all issues of Les Miserables will be #9, but the print is determined by the HRN such as 14 18 20. When searching, search for "Classics Illustrated #9" or "Les Miserables". They will all be issue #1 in the database and the comment identifies the HRN. Note, some have a space after the # (such as the 84 above)

Classics Illustrated #9 - Les Miserables [HRN 51]

-David

ok, will try to remember that for the next person, but that's just a weird way to do it in my opinion. and I couldn't get them to come up before with just the story title because the OP had it as Golden instead of Gold, and midsummers instead of midsummer, so it helps when the spelling is correct. so they come up using the story title, but ya gotta spell it right.
thanks David.

since it's a prestige format series, you now have to use the Prestige Format choice or All Types in the search's Comic Type dropdown menu. Lots of other formats now require you to choose a more exact type, so get used to that.

it's categorized as a mini-comic, so you can use either All Types or the mini-comic choice in the Comic Type drop down. for future reference, most comics that come with the toys will be categorized as mini comics.

Sup,
I what is a prestige issue, how does it differ from a mini series or normal series?
Thanks

Ah'll be your googleberry (nod to Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in Tombstone): Prestige Format comics are printed on better paper, with better covers and more pages than a regular issue, with thin cardstock covers, and squarebound spines. Usually used for mini-series and one-shots. DC coined the term way back in the '90s, but everyone uses it now.

Missing variant review time

collectibleshop
collectibleshop
notes from an admin from some of the multiple posts about this: "We enter roughly 400 to 500 books each week with new comics alone. Variants can be in the same range depending on what's released. Store variants are not on lists from Diamond or other distributors. This takes time and effort.... We receive hundreds of variant covers every month. Single issues can have 100 variants and everything is manually added to the site."

It takes time, so be patient. sometimes it can take a couple weeks, sometimes it's quicker, and sometimes stuff gets lost and months go by. See this post for how to check on variants you've submitted:

while going thru Detective Comics for missing prices, I notice that when you go to the next page (100 issues per page choice), the next page starts at the bottom, forcing you to move it back to the top. Why is that? I actually have an add-on that jumps the page to top or bottom, but I forget to use it most times cuz the icon on the toolbar is so small, and it's still 'new' to me. (it's called Back To Top for Firefox if anyone wants to try it, it works well and saves manual scrolling when sites don't have 'back to top' buttons or links or they're hidden by adblockers and you don't know it.) I know CPG has a button at the bottom to go back to the top too.

And the page jump field should be at the top too, perhaps right under the tabs. makes it faster to use for some search results when you're not sure what page the issues you want will be on.

using windows 7 desktop and firefox browser that's not up to date, but new enough. new site is decently faster, that's a big help on searches with long runs.

And that doesn't include all the variants submitted by members too, and they have a hierarchy about what gets added faster, so it takes time, so be patient. sometimes it can take a couple weeks, sometimes it's quicker, and sometimes stuff gets lost and months go by. Usually if it's been months then it's ok to ask about them like you did, as they may have been lost in the shuffle or just so far back they haven't been checked on.

Maybe Casper will come to the rescue...

I reposted the link to that instructional post, so it works now. they've redone something with the forum, so many old post links don't work now, so you have to search the 'title' of the old link and get the new one.

https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/transformers-fate-of-cybertron-special/phppir has all 3 versions. It's a 'Special', so you have to use the Special choice in the Comic Type dropdown menu these days, or use All Types. I just use All Types when something doesn't show up with the default 'issue' choice, as you may not know what CPG has it filed under, with all the various types of comics. It may say 'Special' as part of the title in the indicia inside, but doesn't on the cover, but many one-shots are specials. Get familiar with the choices in the Comic Type menu, it will save some hunting.

the 4B has an incorrect pic too, it's the British edition, and they have a separate listing for it ( https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/avengers-the/4/ucwtos , which has an incorrect cover price of .09 cents, but it's 9d in British money), so 4B should be removed.
and yeah, the values for the other one seem way high for a GRR reprint. and there's no listing for the 4A 1st print? it seems to be missing. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/avengers-the/sixv
