I had thought that too, but everywhere else just has the A and B and 1 Kickstarter cover, and Aspen Comics site lists a holofoil exclusive. https://www.aspenstore.com/search.asp?keyword=Fathom+%23+1+Reprint
only series that anyone lists with a bunch of covers from 2021 is Fathom the Core (CPG only has 6 covers, another site lists 10, up to J), and Fathom the Core Kickstarter, which that other site that can't be mentioned lists 34!
aspen's site has some : https://www.aspenstore.com/search.asp?keyword=fathom+core+1
that's about all I'm gonna do for this thread, so maybe an admin will figure it out. |

WHY ARE SIGNED COMICS BEING LISTED AS VARIANTS
collectibleshop

cartercontrols wrote:
I find the same cover on here twice...one DF version and the same DF version signed...both have different variant issue names. The cover is the cover...signed should not be a different cover variant....signed is denoted in your personal collection. I would like to see a section specifically for COA/who issued/COA number...not a big deal because I use the note section for that, but would be a nice little feature like the signed and by who.
This is just how they do it for Dynamic Forces signed editions, whether the cover is a variant exclusive or not. Sometimes the 'variant' part is that it's signed, not that the cover is different, for Dynamic Forces editions. If you look at the list of DF comics, https://comicspriceguide.com/exclusives/dynamic-forces/uo , you'll find all kinds of regular 'A' covers with signed DF edition 'variants' listed separately (makes it easier for people to add to their collections), plus DF cover variants that are both signed and unsigned, like Electric Black. Takes some scrolling down the list, but that's just how CPG handles DF stuff. Not really worth complaining about, there's very few of these 'both covers are the same but 1 is signed' listings, so it's not like there thousands. CPG currently has 400+ DF 'exclusives' on that result, and way less signed variants (I was surprised at the low number of signed ones), so not like they clutter up the titles.
Ron can state the official CPG reasoning, I'm going by what I see. |

How to ID black bagged comics w/o devaluing
collectibleshop
|
Hi, you're not going to devalue the comics if you open the bags, and the standard storage wisdom since a ways after polybags started is that they SHOULD be removed from those cheap bags that MAY help deteriorate the comic faster. The majority of collectors would want the COMIC, and to know which one it is, and not care about the bag. If you ever want to get them pro-graded, the company will take them out of the bags too. The black bags are worthless. Open them and let them breath and be identified! |

Missing TPB: Project Pegasus Saga
collectibleshop

seems CPG is missing that one, it's the original 1988 tpb, according to other sites. Also, the one CPG lists , https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/thing-project-pegasus/1_trade%20paper%20back/pkrqouw has the wrong year, it's the 2018 edition, not 2010. 2010 was the hardcover, but some sites say cover date was Dec 2009..
comics.org ( https://www.comics.org/issue/1796346/ ), mycomicshop and a guide in another 'realm' have it as 2018, and no 2010 softcover of a TPB version.
OP's pic is correct for the 1988 original. I attached a sharper/brighter image from another site, CPG can pick one. edited by collectibleshop on 4/7/2023 |

Mystique posterbook

|
CPG doesn't USUALLY list poster books as they contain no story, but they have some poster books listed, most are early 2000s. from my research this was packaged with the Mystique Legends and maybe other action figures. 24 pages. Most sites say 2005 publication, MCS says 2003, but they make mistakes too. I'd go with 2005. I cropped the pic a bit more and sharpened it up some, if they want to use it. but up to CPG to list it or not. I personally don't think these qualify since there isn't "at least 50% story" in them, which is the normal CPG updated standard. edited by collectibleshop on 4/7/2023 |

it's here, 'hidden' under the 'ashcan' tab for Wizard Mini-Comic: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/wizard-mini-comic/1_ashcan/pmrwkp
No idea why these aren't listed by the team/character on them also, regardless of what the indicia says. this is where the other Wizard mini-comics/ashcans are listed: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/wizard-mini-comic/pkrwj
they only have 5 titles, so not much work to add the character name to the search engine so people can find them way easier. not sure why the #2 Maxx platinum one is listed under mini-comic Issues tab by itself either, instead of with the others under Ashcan as #2C. Seems they all should be under just mini-comic since that's what's on the cover, and all are ashcan size. And if it were me, I'd add the character names to the Ashcan AND Mini-comic database in the dropdown menu in the Comic Type field, instead of it only finding Wizard Ashcan, and put them under an ashcan tab with the regular series they go with too, or at the top of the numeric listings.
and it's odd they don't come up if you use Wizard or Wizard mini comic for the title and choose Mini-Comic in the Comic Type field, with or without any issue number, considering that's what CPG calls them on the listing page and in the URL. more fun for the programmer... edited by collectibleshop on 4/9/2023 |

Amazing Spiderman Ashcan

Xvipah beat me to it! https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/amazing-spider-man-ashcan/nn/pmqvks is more direct to the full listing tho.
search tip #1: correct spelling helps. Spider-Man has a hyphen in it. While some Spider-Man title searches are cross referenced with the Spiderman spelling, this issue and many others are not.
Tip #2: always try 'All types' too in the Comic Type menu. This issue, like all the ashcans should be but aren't, is also findable under the Ashcan tab on the Vol 1 Amazing Spider-Man title. but it won't come up by itself on a Spider-Man plus comic type: ashcan search, and it should since that's how the listing is titled, but the result shows you the original series, so you click that, wait and wait for it to load, and then click the ashcan tab.
ashcan/mini-comics/promos/action figure comics aren't the easiest to find on here, and people are regularly pointing out actual missing ones, so even using all the search tricks you may not find all you have. For non-'regular' issues, it's best to use All Types if you're not sure of the type or get no results with multiple type choices.

well, the one that comes up now on the Amazing Spider-Man vol 1 series on the ashcan tab has changed since earlier today it appears. now it shows a Walmart one. that wasn't what it showed to me earlier, it showed the one you have, https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/amazing-spider-man-ashcan/nn/pmqvks . weird. at least yours is listed, they just need to tweak the search terms and ashcan menu. edited by collectibleshop on 4/10/2023 |

after reviewing both listings for the #1 prestige now, I notice the 'new' 1C one is sub-titled 'Collector's edition' vs Prestige format on the 'old' listing. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman-vs-predator/1C/piqvlys
there's a COLLECTED edition TPB, which they have listed under the TPB tab, with it's correct and different cover than the 1C, so that's not it. I don't find anyone listing a new/separate 'Collector's edition' of #1 (which prestige formats have been called over the years) that's not just the regular prestige format A & B cover versions, and I'd be surprised if there was one after all these years. Methinks it's just a mistake that 1C is there at all, so unless they can explain exactly what is it, I'm gonna go with the 'oops' excuse. edited by collectibleshop on 4/10/2023 |

I'm only going by what CPG calls it. comics.org just says it's a one-shot. Marvel didn't put 'annual' on the cover like they usually would, so maybe it's in the indicia, or maybe CPG got it wrong. someone with a copy (bluehoosierhen?) can verify the indicia. Marvel's site doesn't call it an annual, nor does the Previews listing. |
