Sometimes no, sometimes yes, it all depends on what a buyer is willing to spend. Price guides are not always right in what a book is worth but gives you a idea what a book might be worth. Some books you will be lucky to sell and get a guides value while other books you will get over the price guide value. All depends on what book you have. |

Well if worried of not getting the money you think it is worth don't put on auction below what you think it is worth. Simple. |

Raw value/graded vaule

A raw value is a book that you grade the condition of the book by yourself.
A graded value is a book that a owner sends to a third party company that grades the book for you and you pay to be done by them . It is not a cheap process but as you see in the price guide it can add value to a book in higher grades of a book. |

Look at your post above and under what you wrote is a option to "report to moderator". There are other ways to do it but it will work.
Also like this thread use this area on the forum which is suppose to be read by moderators. http://comicspriceguide.com/forum/forum23-issues.aspx
Also, the site has asked people to be moderators recently which might mean they are short on workers once again meaning our concerns are not being read by anyone that can help us fix the problems. edited by Jokerbangedquinn on 9/18/2016 edited by Jokerbangedquinn on 9/18/2016 |

The original thread, nobody sleeps, was fun as you said. What helped it was people across the world were posting more and we had a bunch of second and third shift workers posting also. Another was the No Topic thread, random thoughts from all. Right now watching Monday Night Football and looking thru a short box of comics I had put away years ago and didn't label the box besides misc DC books. Found that I have five copies of Mad Love besides three copies of Batman: Harley Quinn. I knew I had a copy of each but forgot I had multiples of them. Pretty happy about this. |

Maybe next time you will use CBCS instead of the dreaded CGC. |

I never did and still don't put any of my books over a 9.2 grade. I'm sure I have some books over a 9.2 but I'm good grading them as only a 9.2. I got third party graded books over near mint and these are the only ones I list for myself over near mint. If I ever decide to start selling books, the highest I'd list a book of raw books is only a 9.2. |

Early on in my comic collecting grades didn't mean much, just wanted to read the book and that was simple. Sure put them in boards and bags and filed them away to be read again. After a period of time I understood how grades of books effected the price but would still try to buy the cheaper issues to read. Later in time I got into buying two of most issues I was interested in, the read one and not touch the other thinking. What a waste of money really but it made sense at the time. I read everything I buy, minus the third party graded books but most of those I have copies of that are raw to be read. Being afraid of reading a book turns me off. That doesn't sound fun to me to have a hobby that you have to be fearful to fully enjoy the hobby. I do understand why others are in it for money, but that thought is secondary for me, reading is more important. |

Bag & Board Size for Gladstone Comics

Not having the books you are talking about so can't know what size they are. But here is a site to order Mylar bags and backing boards from. Top of the line products, is the only place I buy from. Take measurement of comics you own and look at the sizes listed on the link I gave you. There are a few sizes and and I buy Mylar2 bags in the STANDARD size which most comics fit in. Mylar is the "gold standard" of preserving your books. Here is the link. http://www.egerber.com/catalog.asp |

Nice, I really enjoy CrossGen titles. Negation, Meridian are my favorites which I reread every so often. Sojourn and the First are pretty good too. I think Marvel now owns the rights of CrossGen now. When they tried to write new stories, they sucked, a real shame. |

Star Wars issue 1

I have looked on this sites price guide and at mycomicshop.com listings for a $1.25 cover price and found none listed. My thought is that is a reprint of course which it's value is a lot lower than the 1st print 30 cent cover. You might look at the indicia, the small publishing print inside the front cover or on the front page. It will have the date when printed, what country printed possibly and might tell you what printing it is, second, third print. You can also look at eBay to see if you can find a cover price of the $1.25 issue you have. A $1.25 price makes me think that your book was reprinted much later than the original printing in 1977. Now all that said, there are collectors that might find this printing valuable to own, but who knows.🤔 |

Also the indicia will tell you the books "real" title. Maybe you have a treasury edition book or a Star Wars collected edition. |
