To clarify the process slightly (based on how I have to find it): 1. Click on "My Comic Collection" in the toolbar 2. Select any publisher from your list 3. Click the Publisher pull-down found directly to the right of the publisher logo (on a desktop browser) and scroll to the top to select "All Publishers" and hit the "Go" button.

Hey Ron, slightly off-topic question... Is there a way to exclude TPBs from the "Top Issue" lists? More often than not I just want to see my most valuable singles and not a bunch of $20-50 trades. (Ex., 22 of my top 25 Dark Horse are TPBs, 13 of my top 25 Marvel are TPBs.) It would be nice to hide those.

Ratio variants are considered retailer incentive variants as they are used to incentivize the retailer to buy more copies of the book. Custom covers will usually have an appreciation or acronym for their name where the RI would be.
This issue of Black Cat #1 is an example of a cover printed for a specific retailer: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/black-cat/1-CMXP-A/pkwpbss

I've been very happy with it. P. Craig Russell has done an admirable job of creating a faithful and compelling translation of Gaiman's novel. There are very minor cuts, omissions, or story restructuring here and there, but they are minimal not unexpected considering that comic books are a very different medium from prose. The current arc, "Moment of the Storm", is the third and final arc and parallels with part 3 of the original novel. Scott Hampton's art has been a bit hit and miss, but he brings in a surprising amount of background detail from the novel.

To help me understand using a modern book that I collect: Robotech is currently published by Titan and listed as a UK book, but is printed here in the US with a US price. Will these book eventually be changed to being considered a US book?
Side question, possible related: I noticed that recently the pricing shown on the main title page for Robotech and Robotech Remix from Titan changed to displaying in pounds, but when you select an individual issue it still displays in dollars. Is this change a coding artifact from wanting the country to reflect where it's actually sold versus where it was printed or where the publisher is HQ'd?

comicbookdb.com closing down

|
Hi all, I wouldn't normally post anything regarding a competing site, but for those of you who also use comicbookdb.com please note that they have posted a notice on their site stating that they will be closing down on December 16, 2019. Here is their complete statement (links removed):
IMPORTANT! ComicbookDB.com will be closing its doors on December 16th, 2019 as we look towards creating a new and improved tool for collectors to utilize. We want to make sure everyone has a chance to download their data & collections by clicking on this link after logging in. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to contribute to the site and we look forward to seeing you again soon. If you have any questions, click here.
I personally am a member there, but not to log my collection. I have used it frequently though to help verify or corroborate data for CPG. They definitely have a robust database so it will be a shame to see them close down. |

1. Family will be heading over and I'll be cooking the turkey on the grill for the first time. And it's supposed to rain... in sunny Southern California. 2. But I'm thankful that I even get to attempt grilling a turkey.
Seriously though, so many things to be thankful for. Family, friends, opportunity. In a narrower, more relevant sense, I'm also thankful for creativity. Without it we wouldn't have all the amazing comic books that we love to geek out over. The writers, artists, editors, publishers, etc, and their abilities to weave intriguing stories that capture the imagination are what keep this medium alive and vibrant for all of us to enjoy. |

Adding UPC codes for some early direct issues
solarno
|
For about a year or so as the transition from newstand to direct began in earnest, some direct issues had a barcode that was marked out by the publisher. Should we be entering a UPC code for those issues, or treat them as if they do not have a barcode. The mark through makes them unreadable to scanners.
example: Captain America issues 234-242 https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/captain-america/234/xowvl#variants
For now I will be ignoring these specific variants, but I can always go back and add UPC codes if deemed necessary.

Marvel VS DC!
solarno
|
I struggle with this. When it comes to comics I really want to like Marvel characters. I think it's their humanity that draws me to them, but outside of Cap, rarely do they keep my interest for long. I felt terrible when I recently dropped Cap after issue 18 of the current run, like I betrayed Steve. Over my 35 years of reading/collecting I've tried considerably more Marvel titles than DC ones, but I find that the characters I have the longest runs with tend to be DC. Yet I'm not sure I could tell you definitively why that is.
Now with the movies, give me Marvel over DC. All. Day. Long.
Go figure. |

Box management

I believe that the intended reason for having 'boxes' is to denote what physical box or location a collector has a particular issue. That's how I've always used them. What you are asking for is more a way to attach tags to issues in your collection with your own descriptors. That might be feasible, but it could also become a coding/database nightmare for the developers. |
