Yes, I believe you are correct David. Because of that, I needed to move volume 2 down to volume 3 as well

Currently, we have 800+ variants that need to be researched, priced and approved or denied. Yesterday, I asked several of our admins to help with the approval process for variants. 53 were taken off the list yesterday and last night. That is an amazing number for one day so our admins came through big time. Hopefully, some of them were your submissions.

Unless we raise our membership cost to offset hiring someone specifically for variants, you just have to be patient. No one in the field does what we do. Some sites look at important comic issues, some do graded books, but no one has even half of the books we have. Some of the closest ones to our 1,080,000 comic books have stolen our data via site scrappers. (before we changed the site) The reason is because it's really difficult.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I'll talk with our programmer about it and see if anything can be done.

That's an interesting idea. There are quite a few members who try to grade their books as they enter them. The easiest and fastest way is to use the default 9.4 but some try to be more accurate.

I'm super proud of our admins and the work they've done related to variants over the past 8 days. They cut the number from 800+ to 400. That's a ton of work on their part, researching and properly labeling books.

Are you seeing some of your books approved Rhudman?

Wolverine as an example of Newsstand vs. Direct

Ronbatman

Today while I was listing some of my extra comics for sale I noticed that we didn't have all the newsstand and direct issues in the system. We only had the direct issues although the scans jump back and forth. Anyway, I'd like to use this as an example of what we are doing throughout the system.

1. We are still adding newsstand and direct issues.
2. We are organizing them by ages. So modern age books have the direct issues listed first. Copper and Bronze issue have newsstand issues listed first. In essence we are listing the most common issue as the "A" issue and the other as the "B".

In some cases this divides a title like Wolverine. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/wolverine/rlqw
Issues 1-49 are in the Copper Age so the Newsstand is first, Direct is "B"
Issues 50-189 are in the Modern Age so the Direct is first, Newsstand is "B"

I know this might be confusing but we are trying to be consistent as we add these issue throughout the system.

Secondly, If you own the "B" issue of any Wolverine book can you please submit the scan? It would save me a ton of time. Currently I just have the first 40 done but I'll be adding more tomorrow.
Let me know if you have questions.

Ok, so this is what I've fixed https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/beavis-butt-head/snrq

1. Added search terms to the correct listing so that you can find it easier.
2. Moved all collections from the wrong listing into the correct one
3. Deleted the wrong issues
4. Added UPC codes to all, dates, some creators (if they were listed in the wrong title)

If someone would like to submit missing issues for the tpb's I will add them as well.

The app is only available on the Apple or Android store. The issue is that different countries have different rules for the app and different approvals. I wish it was easier since we are a global site.

Sounds interesting. If it's a book of posters it would not qualify to be added to the site. Our requirements are that a book has to have at least 50% comic book story.

Did you pick up the key book for Deadpool, New Mutants #98?

George Perez signing event, make a list?

Perez is one of the greats, no doubt. Typically, when I think about George Perez, two mini-series come to mind, Infinity Gauntlet and Infinite Crisis. Those sets of covers are iconic. There were usually so many characters on the page.

I do love his Wonder Woman covers as well. And then there's the Teen Titan covers. This could keep going on...

Comic Milestones that go uncollected?

Ronbatman

Your question is an interesting one.

From what I've seen some people chase the new hot thing. Someone with influence brings a book to the comic communities attention and we go buy it. In some cases there is no data backing up the "hot" title. When that happens the hype dies quickly and the price drops. But when a movie or show is announced, that always brings interest and usually higher prices. Those situations lead to bumps in prices that usually stay higher.

What you're talking about is more subtle. A shift in the way DC looked at comics and the development of the mini-series. It's important, no doubt. Is it a sexy buy for a comic collector? no.

On the positive side of this, under valued books give opportunity for those collectors who see their worth.

CGC and CBCS

Does it seem like CGC and CBCS are having a battle about who can have the most private signings?

CGC announced
Tom King - $65 per item
Scott Snyder - $70
George Perez - $75
Frank Miller - $130
Clayton Crain - $70

If you went to a convention Tom King charges $15 for a CGC signing and Scott Snyder's is $20.

CBCS announced
Scott Snyder - $25 per item
Greg Capullo - $25 per item
Donny Cates - $25 per item
Ryan Stegman - $25 per item
Tom King - $20 per item
Mitch Gerads - $20 per item
Frank Miller - $100 per item

Pretty big price difference between the two companies
