As I mentioned before, deal with these things between you and the seller and if necessary involve me. Calling this seller out on the forum is bad form on your part. Sending mean spirited messages to sellers is wrong as well. You cannot do that. There is no excuse for it. We want a friendly community for buyers and sellers.

If a seller does not accept your offer, there is no agreement. It takes two to form an agreement. See above for possible reason they won't sell to you.

I just seen both the 1st and 2nd printing hit the top 10 list on comic tom’s top 20 comics of the week. Both are hot with the 2nd printing going for more. It is also the 1st appearance of Clown. News coming out of San Diego Comic Con is helping to drive up the prices of both.

What is up with this book (And others) they seem to go between $16-40 9.4 or better but NOW all of a sudden $70-125 etc.

Is there something about this book I'm missing (It's the first Jack Of Hearts) but it never was this HOT and no mention of him in ANY media form whatsoever..

I think Ebay has started taking $ from shipping and those sellers wanting to continue to offer "free shipping" build the cost into the book. I've seen this practice done over the 20+ years I've been in that marketplace.

Mile High Comics is notorious for selling books at 1.5-2X "guide" price and they sell MILLIONS of dollars worth of books. It really comes down to "a book is worth what someone is willing to pay for it". For example, I (probably) overpaid for a golden age detective book but as that is the going price on ebay, that, in my opinion, is what it's worth. Guides like CPG and Overstreet are just guides; they are not the end all be all for pricing.

People can list comics at whatever price they want. It is a free country. If they want to sell their comics they have to price them to sell.
Sure there will be people who overpay but generally the comics have to be priced right or they won't sell.

Agreed. And selling online adds more expense. You have to take into account packing and shipping costs. That's why a lot of current issues that are worth $5 are being sold for $9-$10. If you can't find it locally, you /have/ to pay a bit of a premium.

I just don't get why you are so angry about it. The comic book market follows the same rules of capitalism as any other market. Why should comics be any different? Why do you feel there should be a code that protects our hobby from market forces. If they are priced too high they won't sell and if someone pays $100 for a $3 book they are stupid and deserve to get ripped off.

It's like when people get mad about Chuck Rozanski not giving Edgar Church's family enough money for the greatest comic score in history as if he owed it to them. It's capitalism people! It ain't pretty but it is the way it is.
