New Mutants 14 did go up because people are paying more for that issue. There seems to be some confusion about Illyana. As you mention, her first appearance is in GS X-men #1 but her first costumed appearance as Magik is more uncertain. People aren't sure if the Magik limited series or New Mutants 14 came out first. So I think they are buying both to hedge their bets.

Donald,
I'm still working on putting the books in new bags and boards since they were in a basement for 30 years untouched. All the bags are yellow and sticking together. My next step is to determine if any of the books are worth grading. Then I'll take the spoils of war and start listed the issues for sales. I already have all the issues you mentioned so they will be graded or listed soon.

It's on the site now

There are zero recent sales on eBay for this title so the value is cover price. If something sells we will adjust it.

CPG Blog is Back

Collectibleshop, I like all of those ideas.

Imcubillo, we are totally in favor of user-submitted content. We've had people submit articles in the past, Rob, Sean, and others. I enjoy adding content from others because the blog, the site, and the hobby isn't just for a few select people. Lately, I've been too busy to write (I miss writing).
I do have a few rules and suggestions for potential writers.

1. You cannot mention or link to our competitors.
2. You can link to your website or social media in the signature line at the bottom. From a search engine point of view, this could help you grow an audience.
3. The article or post can only be submitted here. You cannot have it on your website and our website. We want everything we post to be original.
4. I reserve the right to edit the post for grammar or content. You can ask previous writers, I very rarely change their content.
5. Don't make the post about you, unless you're telling an epic story.
6. The blog is family-friendly so no nudity or harsh language.

That's about it. You have a creative license to write about ANYTHING related to comics.

Push to Variant option

This is an admin-only feature so if you are a regular member this doesn't apply and you won't be able to see it.

The data push from the original issue and the pull data on the variant side are designed to be different.

If you know everything is the same between the original and the variant - you go to the variant and pull the data in. (The point of this is the b/w, sketch and color change variants with the same artist)
If you know that the cover artist is different - you go to the original issue and push the data out.

Does that make sense? It's brand new and I should have told you about it. My bad.

Selling my comics

The only way to know the value of your collection is to grade the books.

I looked at the books you have in the system, you have some books that are extremely desirable for collectors. Daredevil 1 and 2 issues of the ASM 129 could potentially be worth $4000 depending on grade.

I get weekly questions from people selling their collection. My answer is always the same. You have to balance work, time and money. The more work and time you put in, the more money you will get out. The quickest approach to selling will usually get you the lowest dollar amount. If your time is cheap then sell them yourself. If your time is in short supply sell them as a lot.

Bulk Edit grading?

There isn't a bulk edit. When you enter the book you can edit the grade, that's probably the easiest way. Going back into a book after entering it is doubling the time spent.

Let me preface this by saying this is a new feature and we are still working through the details. We didn't know how this feature would be received. Sometimes we implement a feature and people kind of ignore it or don't use it much. Our character area on the details page is one of those features.

Currently, I'm the only person looking at these suggestions which isn't ideal since I have several other responsibilities. One other person has access but he is busy with a million other tasks. Two weeks ago the number of value submissions was about the same as it is today, so I'm keeping up with the new submissions. To give you some perspective, we have one member who has submitted over 150 suggestions. Yesterday, I jumped around a bit so that's how it happened.

Service level agreement - There isn't a service level agreement. We do not make any promises as to when a value submission will be reviewed. This is because we don't know how many submissions we will receive each day. Maybe later when we more fully understand how often people will use this, we can set a guideline in place.

Update denied or accepted - Unless I type out a response you will not know. Some members have received notes from me on this. Like "don't use another price guide for a value suggestion" or "that book was a one of a kind book signed by Bob Kane and not the typical value point". Some value suggestions only affect the graded books or the lower-grade raw books therefore they don't appear on the "recent value changes" page.

Allowing others to change the prices requires a tremendous amount of trust in that individual. We have a code of honesty and integrity that is required for this specific job. I am open to allowing our trusted admins the opportunity to change prices as well.

I hope that helped your understanding.

The top issues was formerly the top 5 issues in your collection. We broadened it to the top 25 issues by publisher and for all publishers. The link at the bottom of that page shouldn't be there. We will get that removed.

Thanks

The app is currently free and you've mentioned the best feature, the bar code scanner. It's nice when you don't have to type in the title of a book and then search for the issue. You will soon be addicted to it.

Clarc,
I pulled up your account and you are currently a Bronze member on the site. You cannot list things for sale with that membership plan. If you would like to upgrade to silver or gold you can add things to the sales queue and sell things. Let me know if you need any help with that.
