X Vol 2 Dark Horse Missing Series

seems hard to believe they've missed that, but I don't see it either, under Dark Horse X titles, or titles that begin with "Dark Horse" either. Vol 1 doesn't come up on a search for me either, only shows under Publisher's X titles. tried 'starts with' too, figuring it and a ton of X-Men titles would show, but nothing shows up for just 'X' or with using an issue number. (using "X-" does bring up those titles tho.) comics.org page for it for CPG to plunder for pics and info: https://www.comics.org/series/74309/ edited by collectibleshop on 9/20/2020 |

Unlisted issue? All-Star 80-Page Giant

this is one of those quirks where using the hyphen messes up the search results, but it shouldn't. it's under All Star Comics,1999 series, under the Giant Size tab: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/all-star-comics/1_giant%20size/pjxpmx
other sites use the hyphen even tho there isn't one on the cover. I looked under DC in the Publishers list and the A's to find it. Dropping punctuation signs often finds stuff. It's faster if you submit it yourself. save a GOOD cropped-to-the-edges pic with no watermark to your computer/phone first. then go to the page that issue should be on, https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/cyberpunk-2077-trauma-team/1/phpqcws, click on the Variants tab, click on the red 'Report Missing Variant' button in lower right after the other covers (if any), and fill in the info boxes as best you can, and upload the pic from your computer/phone, and they'll get to it when they get to it. edited by collectibleshop on 9/24/2020 |

Polybagged comic advice

grading companies will open the bag to grade it, as how else can they grade it? they'll toss the bag too. are you looking to encapsulate it to sell it, or to keep for a while? the polybags supposedly will hasten degradation of the comic over enough time too, and those are already 28 years old. on that auction site, sealed ones are selling for around $150-$200, while graded ones are lower if 9.4 or less, but a 9.8 got over $600, with no bag of course. so worth more if graded and 9.6 or better, BUT, you have no idea of condition until you open it. But at least then you can be honest about the grade if you sell it, and not all that much difference between opened and sealed.
you can buy your own hardcase or good mylar bag if you want to display it in the bag. So, all depends on what you want to do with it. If reselling, you have to take it out of the bag if you want it pro-graded, but you could get much more for it, but it's a crapshoot and fairly high risk after all this time if you'll have a 9.6 or 9.8 copy. That's my tree-fiddy's worth. |

google it you should, information you can find. 'that' auction site has some, mycomicshop, multiple other selling venues. ridiculous prices being asked ($25-$199), no recent actual sales on that auction site though, at least for 'prime #1 printer's proof', should tell you something. |

there is no prototype of Prime #1, you're misreading the descrip. it's the 1st APPEARANCES of Prime and the character Prototype. CPG may decide to list the proof, but I haven't noticed other listings for proofs, as most(?) comics have proofs that are sent to the publishers to check for correctness, so that would be a ton of books to list, although I'd think most proofs don't hit the market. ronbatman can give you the scoop on that decision. |

like with your pence price issue, Marvel UK titles are under UK in the country drop-down menu, as that's where they're published. when something comes up with no results, there's a Tips blurb below that, and one of the tips is: "No results? Try these tips: Are you looking at the right country? Try changing the search to "All Countries". Your search may have been published outside the USA."
and technically you're in the wrong forum for this, you wanted the Help Locating / Identifying Comics forum, but no biggie.
here's the titles: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/gene-pool/1/shrumt https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/genetix/poxwk https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/death-metal/slpx

Just a followup, I thought that awhile back, if we uploaded pictures or contributed to the database, our subscription was raised as compensation.
Either way, do I need a gold membership or a silver membership to get back to the list of 8000 issues in inventory?
there's no subscription upgrade for submitting stuff to the database. this page tells you the ranking features/benefits: https://comicspriceguide.com/member-ranks
as Ron said, you'll have to get a gold membership to see all 8000 books, silver is limited to 300. |

CGC Grading Video

Some additional info for those new to 3rd party grading... CGC will do a more thorough resto check on most comics that they think require it than what the video shows. They use a blacklight to check for color touch too, and will use higher magnification if trimming or pieces being added is suspected, and will look at the spine inside for glue repair, and other techniques.
Multiple graders check each book then arrive at a consensus grade, although they've gotten coy now with how many look at them, used to be 3 plus the pre-graders who do the page counting. This page on their site gives another overview: https://www.cgccomics.com/grading/grading-process/
They say more grading videos will be coming, so you can bookmark the youtube page and follow along. They have a forum for Grading and Restoration questions too, with some pinned topics with all kinds of good info. Learn much, you can. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/27-comic-book-grading-and-restoration-issues/ edited by collectibleshop on 10/9/2020 |

Just an FYI, we allow links to other sites as long as they are not a competitor and it's in the proper area. For example, we don't want people posting their auction links in other areas outside the "comic auctions" forum. If you have a set of eBay auctions that you want to post in the comic auction forum, great. If you want to provide a link to grading tips, great. CGC and CBCS are in no way our competition so any of their links are fine. I hope that helps. R
thanks Ron, I edited the post to add the link to CGC's grading forum. |

lots of variations, very small print runs, but they do offer print versions, so not all .pdf. and CPG doesn't accept .pdf pics for the database. .jpg and .png only. |
