Checking into this title now. Netflix is quickly becoming the driving factor in comics.

This weekend is C2E2 in Chicago. They have a monster list of comic book artists and writers. From Marv Wolfman and George Perez to modern artists like Stanley Lau and Skottie Young.

https://www.c2e2.com/Guests/Comic-Guests/

If anyone is going to be attending on Friday and would like to meet up let me know.

site stuff that's overdue to be fixed

The first two items on your list have been fixed now.

The issues related to how the forum and our website interact. (The forum is technically a different website in a different programming language. From a users point of view, you cannot tell the difference.) We cannot fix those with the current setup. We would have to change the forum to something else. While it looks like a small issue, it's actually a major undertaking.

I don't think people understand the amount of work involved in keeping a site this big up and running. There are millions of lines of code and one man, Bryan, keeps it all running. Be patient as we add new features, fix minor issues and dream up new ideas.

Grading Whole Run Opinion

The first thing that you should do is study the books and try to find any flaws, blunt corners, spine creases, minor folds, etc. Look at the front and back cover for any issue. Every flaw can lower the grade of the book. I wouldn't send off any book that shows more than one very minor flaw. When those books get to 9.6 and below it isn't hardly worth the time and effort to get them professionally graded. (unless you just like graded books)

Welcome back to the hobby and please let us know how we can help you.

The universal grade would help you in the long run. Could you take it to one of their on-site grading areas and get it taken care of there?

Regardless, those are some impressive comics.

Question

Hey Ian,
We are constantly changing values on the site. The current market has some craziness happening with astronomical variant numbers and strong speculation market. To answer your specific question, all values are out for all members.

The benefits of being a gold or silver member are that you can see more value changes, you can sell books for no cost and you can catalog more comics. (unlimited for gold members) We have people who make a living just selling on our site.

If you ever want to write for our blog please let me know and we can talk about the requirements. I would provide a link back to your site with the signature so it would help your traffic.

My son is excited about Shazam so we are going on Thursday. We both enjoyed the fun-filled trailer and are looking forward to it. Were the ending credits related to new movies coming out or were they important to the story?

So You Want to Sell Your Comics?

Grading is done by a third party service that obviously charges for their service. CGC and CBCS are the two primary services. Look them up online for a cost for each.

Before you send anything away to be graded there are some things you should do.
1. Examine your comics for any damage, folds, spine creases, color loss, tears, blunt corners. Try to determine the condition. Every single flaw or imperfection affects the grade.
2. After you've determined the grade look at the guide and see what the raw value is. Typically if the raw is $100 or more, grading will be worth the time and expense.

I hope that helps,

I saw 3 separate submissions for that book, 2 by Basement and 1 by CollectibleShop. I've approved it but had to use cover price since it hasn't sold in the last year on that auction site or our site. I deleted the other two entries so they won't count against either of you.

Chris,
I looked in the IDW area for variants that need approval and didn't find any G.I. Joe books. There are 5 different volumes of G.I. Joe books done by IDW, is it possible that it was put in the wrong volume? If not, resubmit it, let me know here and I'll research and approve it.

We haven't gone searching for all the Detective Comic #1000 variants yet. I've seen one source that had 80+ variants so far. If you have one that isn't on the site yet please submit it.
All the best,
Ron

Sean,
It's not the best choice to throw negative comments out with your first and second post on the site. It makes regulars think that you are from one of our competitors trying to discourage people from joining our site.

But I'm going to chose to assume the best about you, that you're trying to help us get better. We have over 1,000,000 books in our database and we are constantly updating books. We rely on our administrator, contributors, and members to help us find issues as you mentioned. Once we know about them, we research them and fix the problems. I'll look at these books today and fix whatever needs to be changed.
All the best,
Ron

Thank you for clarifying Sean. This is the forum for posting about pricing concerns.

https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/forum11-market-watch.aspx

I also receive emails from members about pricing issues. That can be sent to Ron at Comics Price Guide. (I didn't write it directly because of site scrapers who look for email addresses) Pricing is one of our primary focuses. We automate some things but other things require direct attention. It's a never ending job but it's one of the reasons people join our site. We have a former comic shop owner who's job is just price updates. Others work on price updates daily as well.

The reasons you should join CPG are simple. You can get an accurate value of your collection and if you chose to sell a book on the site, it takes less than a minute to list it for sale. We don't charge any fees other than the membership cost. (No closing costs, no listing fees, nothing) It's like the cataloging sites plus a price guide plus eBay, all rolled into one.

Hopefully, I'm very easy to track down on the forum or get an answer from via email.

For the record, no one sees a miss except for you and an administrator if you accumulate a bunch of misses. Unfortunately, there are people who try to submit wrong data intentionally so we have to track that. But someone like you, no fears. smile

Collectibleshop, you're going to get rich charging "tree-fiddy" for all your answers.
