You can buy as many of mine as you like. www.comicspriceguide.com/memebrs/kdscomics
There is a limit to the number of classified ads you can post and be active at one time.

It will tell you how many when you look at your posts.

Naming the Comic Book Ages

Ronbatman wrote:
As the largest Comic Book Price Guide, we are taking the responsibility to name the comic ages. The last age to have an accepted name is the Modern age beginning in 1/1992 with the formation of Image Comics. That signaled a departure from the past with artists owning their properties. After 29 years it's time to divide the ages into more manageable time frames.

Dates we think are important to signal the end of this age
1998 Blade Movie (Some view this as the first Marvel movie)
1999 IDW is founded (first book published in 2002)
2000 Dark Horse Presents ends 14-year run
2000 Marvel's Ultimate Spiderman begins
2003 Image's Walking Dead and Invincible begin
2005 Batman Begins Movie (starts trilogy)
2007 Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited launched
2008 Iron Man Movie (1st Marvel Studios Movie, Kevin Feige produced)
2011 DC's New 52 Begins

So what should the age that begins in January 1992 and ends in _____ be named?
  • Image Age
  • Artist Age
  • Chromium Age
  • New Age
  • Variant Age
  • Steel Age

These are the suggestions we have. If you don't like these please, post a suggestion. There is no compensation if we use a name you suggest other than the praise of countless fans who want the Modern age to be less than 29 years! Tell all your collector friends so that we can get a broad range of opinions.
Thanks,
Ron

I think if more importance is the Valiant Age with the advent of Valiant comics in 1991. Remember Image spun off in 1992 AFTER Valiant. From 1991 - 2009 or 2011 maybe we should call it the Atomic Age after Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom. Also for all of the "atomic" or anatomy concentric art. Perhaps the Modern Age should start with the DC New 52 in 2011.

Chew - For Mature Readers?

kds_comics

Okay I am not a fan of Image's Chew Comics, but I picked up several in a package deal.

Should this say Mature Readers? Should I put them in with Hellbazer and Vampirella?

Seems pretty "off the wall" with edible violence. Not my thing.

Help a fellow collector out here. Can I call a friend to give me a clue?

Thanks

Why are my issues not showing up when I open my "box"? It shows a preview of what is in it, then open and says nothing in it. I have organized all of my collection and assigned box that I have labeled? Any ideas?

Go to individual comic and select edit to make sure it is in the box. Sometimes they go to "unorganized". After that I go nothing. If there is a preview it should be in there unless you have multiple tabs open and page not updated with latest info.

Not an admin

If you select the "About" Tab from the main CPG menu and go to "How to Use CPG" it will take you to numerous video instructions.
These are very good and will save you time.

David - great explanation. Thanks. I have one and it looked like a normal comic at first glance. "White Helmet" Galactus did not seem like a big deal. I suppose Galactus can wear any color helmet he wants! But if it is an error, it is an error. As the website says it is both in direct and newsstand.

There is a "suggested value update" tab right above listed value and right below the button for the next issue in the series.

Appears for everyone. You need the specific condition of the sold comic to verify the price update for that condition - raw or graded.

I put in some Mystery in Space value updates about six weeks ago and CPG has gotten to them.

Unfortunately Captain Savage comic do not bring a lot of value.

$2 to $7 depending on issue and condition. Not what you would expect for a 1960s comic - but it is what it is.

to The Admins - Perhaps this should go in the missing issues section but more appropriate here.
My best guess is that these are both the same comic - but perhaps further research will tell they are two different publications.

https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/pudge/2/ucuqju

https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/the-further-fattening-adventures-of-pudge-girl-blimp/2/vhvpjp

The issue is quite confusing as there is not a normal indica to tell the publisher or the date of publication.

I believe I have The Further Adventures of Pudge Girl Blimp

Title "The Further Fattening Adventures of Pudge Girl Blimp" is both on the cover and in the indica
Simply says copyright by Lee Mars 1975 and published by Mike Fredrick.

Cover says "Star Reach" but CPG database says Last Gasp.

Indica says $0.75 is the price but no price on cover.

And thoughts as to if this is the same comic or two different publications?

Here is issue #3 indicia:

Thanks - I hope the admins will take this up. #1 says Last Gasp on the indica and Star Reach on the cover. If it was a Last Gasp reprint I would think it would have a cover price. Remains confusing!

I believe the cover price is 'hidden' on the soda can in front on her foot, it's $1. multiple sites I found say the 1st print is $1, second is $1.25. Wouldn't be the first time a cover and indicia didn't agree. you can ask on the CGC forums, plenty of underground experts there. thought there was a forum for just undergrounds, but don't see it now.

You are correct on the soda can price. The indica interior says the send away price for additional copies is $0.75.

Some sellers may have customers who are loyal and willing to pay more because they know the transaction will have fewer problems. It interests me but I take nothing at face value when it comes to pricing.

Volatility isn't the right word, but it might be worthwhile to give comics a numerical rating based on how consistent the prices are in the market. Something akin to a reliability rating.

There are statistics that I assume CPG uses. More than one standard deviation beyond the mean is usually a number that should be discarded.

I am new to this. Just pulled out 3 boxes of comics that were put away in the in 91. all new and not circulated. I think I have finished entering into my collection on here. I have several that increase in value by quite a bit by having them graded. Is it worth it on some of these. Is there a market for them.

I agree with Xvipah73 posted here. Do you homework and check more than one source for the price of a graded comic. CPG does and awesome job on raw comics but is sometime wonky on the prices of graded comics. Yes, some could be worth grading. You will have to do the accounting on the cost to get graded to see if it is worthwhile.
