I have added several suggested price updates with links to an actual sales number. Some have been worked and updated - so I Huzzah (A laural and hardy handshake!) for the ones that got worked! Did you include a reference to an actual sale? I think this is what they are looking for. Perhaps the admins could elaborate on the process. Don't like to speak for them - only saying what I have observed.

Bulk Edit grading?

I agree with Robo. It may be faster to just go into a title - "add" a long list of comics as a run (even if you do not have every issues - all all from beginning to end.) with approximate grade and other info you would like - Perhaps put in a separate box -

Then go to title and delete all issues you do not have - and delete the old data.

The thing to remember is DELETE takes one or two clicks of the mouse. Adding a new individual comics takes five to six mouse clicks. (unless you do the run thing)

WAY faster..... Speed is time.

Hope this helps - give it a trial.

CPG Sellers Posting Feedback to CPG Buyers

Not an admin - but here goes...

There should be a "feedback" pop up or embedded web item to do so after you select "received" comics from sales transactions on CPG.
You can't randomly leave feedback - I believe it has to be from a transaction between members.

Select "About" and then "How to Use CPG" from the main menu.

More here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KcT-x88JfQ&list=PL3eOHtGDGIs2A7_jQdSV_ZuYxTmGfs1W1&index=6&t=0s

I think this has it in there - unable to check right now.

We have the new app up and functional as 400 people have downloaded it in the last 2 days. Thank you all for paying attention!

There was a minor issue with very large phones that we've already got a fix sent to Google and Apple. It might be Tuesday since most of them are off work for Christmas/New Years. If the ads are blocking your search bar that will be fixed when they approve our newest fix.

If you have any issues please don't leave low feedback, please talk to me. I will help you! I promise! We would love to have 5-star reviews for this improvement.

Finally, if a UPC isn't entered, you can enter it and it will immediately work. This is a temporary thing that skips our normal approval process but we want to really speed things up for you.

I find your web page works so well on my phone I am reluctant to try the app I guess this is both good news and bad news for your. I will have to try again if you have the barcode reader up and running - this would save me time in adding comics - I assume I would still have to go in, but in a new "virtual" box" (and enter grade, sale price, etc. Thanks - keep up the good work both on the web and the app.

Any "trail" time for the app or do you have to purchase?

Thanks
KDS.

Yes, i make sure to include a recent ebay sold link to each submission. I am sure they have a bunch to update, but certainly the process could be improved or others could help in the process. Overall its Pretty Pretty Pretty Good....from Curb your enthusiasm.

I am not actively selling books for the fluctuations in price don't impact me as much at this point.

Agree - add link to recent eBay sold price or other website "actual sold" price - NOT LIST price! I am all over this feature - I ;like to think I am partially responsible for recent "help Wanted" at CPG for admins - I'd reply more but am busy patting myself on the back!!!

I have a collection of apparoximately 2100+ comics (98% Marvel 70"s & 80's) and would like to sell them.
I sent a list to a comic book store who said my collection is worth about $10,000. This website says its
worth $40,000. I realize its not actually worth 40 as I didn't grade them and just called all mint.
So the store is offering me $4,000-$6,000. All books are in bags with backing boards.

Should I sell them on this site? I understand his reasoning for giving me 50% of what he says is the value
but is the value given on this site accurate.

Sorry for the long question

You have to grade or get someone to help you grade to know actual value. Good luck!

Or you can just send them all to me!!!

I would not immediately grade it very low. Take a look at the whole book., Check grading guides.

2.0 to 3.5 might be reasonable.

Check a grading guide here at CPG or I like this one with picture examples. https://www.nostomania.com/servlets/com.nostomania.CatPage?name=ComicsGradingMain

If so, should there be a note stating such?

Just curious.

That's a 'NO' from KDS Comics - I am sure you can find many more "Monsters from underground" type covers - does not mean it is a prototype.

(As opposed to monsters coming out of the ocean a or monsters from the sky - really only three choices here!)

Download Collection to Excel - Sorting Question

Hello. When I download my collection to Excel, is there some way to change each grade to the numerical value? For example, change Fine to 6.0?

And is there some way to filter out books below a certain grade? For example, separate all books below 8.0?

Reason - I have a large collection which is growing. I want to keep better grade books, and complete the runs in better grade. So I'd like to generate a list - missing issues plus issues I need to buy in better grade.

And I want to sell off lower grade books. Maybe about 2,000 books. So I'd like to generate a sell-list to offer out for sale - issue number, grade, dollar value.

The information is all there on the Excel download. Can we arrange this information this way?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The easy way to group your books is to use the "Comic Box" feature - put all of the comics you want to sell in one 'virtual' comic box.

Then they can be exported (file printed) to a PDF as one unit - then you can copy / paste the PDF and eventually get into excel or other usable format. Not a clean process.

Excel only exports by publisher. See other forum posts for discussion on that - several long running requests to export to excel in a different manor.

Perhaps this explains the banner across the splash page which reads" "Stan Lee presents perhaps the strangest issue ever of the Fantastic Four!"

You have the power to suggest an edit to the story. This is a collector contribution site. Please contribute!

The app is currently free and you've mentioned the best feature, the bar code scanner. It's nice when you don't have to type in the title of a book and then search for the issue. You will soon be addicted to it.

I am on it! tried to use the bar code scanner on Whitman comics from late 70s / early 80s - Those are a bit challenging as some had bar codes and some did not. Also probably not on the top of your list - not valuable or popular books.

I will have to retry on more common / newer UPC codes.

I see users can now add UPC codes - just like you can other issue information. Good job! Looks like a feature - shout this one out!

Prices?

I am not an admin, but I failing to understand what you are asking.
As a user, I can print my want list to a file and email it to you. As for price - that depends on the condition, value and what I will pay. So you want me to list what I will pay in each of 20 conditions? For every book on my want list? Personally, this seems a bit difficult for me to manage, his would take too much time. I can barely put a want list together now. Professionally, I suspect this will be an enormous amount of computer system / database programming.
If you wan to go to CPG HQ in Indiana area and offer your servers to do the software change for free - hey - go for it!!!
I am sure they have a test bed of some sort...
Let me know if I am on the right track with your request - perhaps admins will have last word.

Import list?

kds_comics
kds_comics
CPG did add the feature to put in a "run" of comics of the same title. Often if you have 5 or more issues in a title that has 20 issues or more - it is quicker to put in a run of every issues, then simply delete the issues you do not have. Sort of working sideways - but you get the same notes, same grade and the same virtual "box" on every comic. This saves a lot of typing!

There is also a significant information security/malware risk for CPG to import anything. I could hide malicious code in the database program and perhaps get a back DOOR in the system. It is currently happening with hospitals and small cities. It is called "ransomware".

I would settle for being able to export by box

We have a few ways to tackle the problems specific to our database structure, but our first priority is improving this current sites performance and functionality, then we'll tackle mobile apps and import capabilities.
