Yeah, no problem. I have seen one of these before but I don't remember if it was in person or an image online. Seeing as the whole view of later printings and reprintings have changed over the years having a copy that is in a lower print run group could eventually end out helping the value of the book. While the current love for later printings and reprints is largely driven by folks who seem to think that scarcity alone means a book is more valuable there is merit in pointing out the fact that many later printings and reprint are far more limited in supply and, in the past, far less likely to have survived in higher grade. Sadly, the current opinion could change back in the future too. Regardless, I think it is cool book and you should hang on to it and consider yourself lucky to have a nice copy of a version which is not common at all. |

I have always found that linking to an image produces better images here than uploading as the restrictions for uploading usually shrunk the image down to really silly sizes or created a far inferior image. However, hosting images online can be a burden eventually.

It will take longer and cost more but the CGC or CBCS is the only real choices for grading. PGX is junk in so many ways.
As for whether or not to get a book graded, that is completely up to the individual collector. CGC and CBCS can improve resale values and both make it much easier to sell books should the need arise. Now, in theory, it is not worth getting any old book graded as it is an expensive procedure. Protection-wise you can get very good and very long term protection from Mylars and Mylites and not have to spend fortune to get all your books into them. However, you can do things like when you send a batch of books to get graded and you want to include a book or two that is really worth grading but you just want it in a slab you can send other books that are worth getting graded and you are willing to sell and selling those one or two books covers the cost of getting all the books graded plus some profit on top. For example, I sent 2 very high grade NYX #3's and one ASM #194 in for grading. two of which I was keeping (one NYX and the ASM) the other NYX I sold and it covered the cost of pressing, grading, and shipping all three books. so doing something like this is a means of getting books graded that may not make sense getting graded but you just want to get them graded anyway.
If you are one that sells books then the better way to go is buying Mylars or Mylites (and full or half-backs if you don't get fully buffered backing boards then buying Mylars or Mylites is a waste of cash). |

Any restoration will drop the value in the apparent grade by 25-60%. In our trade restoration is mostly highly frowned upon especially "restoration" that is irreversible. |

Impact corners can drop a otherwise 10 down anywhere from one to several points. If you decide that they are not worth selling don't trash them find some charity that might take them. That way you may even get back some benefit for the donation. |

The best way to get an idea of what they may be realizing in prices is to check for sold items on eBay. Make sure it is SOLD items though not live asking prices because there are lots of people that gauge price based on stupidly high eBay asking prices. eBay can be a bit misleading though so try checking out if you can find any other examples of price on other auction sites or large online sellers like mycomicshop.com. The price guide here might have prices but how much inline they are with the real world would be my question since they are very slow moving in price changes and they still use algorithms in many cases (mostly cause very inflated price for graded copies). |

Based on the scans shown I roughly GUESS the grade on 50 to be 4.5 to 5.5 (the stain and the tanning edges are big hits on grade for me and if the edges are not supple then 3.5 to 4.0). On 51 my guess is 7.0 ish could be higher could be lower. Other factors to consider:
Back cover- is it clean and free from defects Corners - are they sharp/square, or is there some level of wear? Front and back covers- are their any dents, impressions colour wear/scratches Inside - are the interiors free from writing, are there cuts or tears, are all the pages there
other considerations, writing anywhere on the book, colour touching, staples (rusted, stained, etc), are all pages attached to the staples, wear around the staples, staining (of any kind), is the paper in good shape (page colour can tell you this), is the book giving off any odours (smoke, acidic, etc)
All sorts of things can impact grade and it is best for selling to be fairly conservative because people really hate over grading (being loose) with grading. For the most valuable sending them to a third party grader such as CGC or CBCS is an option to consider as graded books can realize higher prices in the market. edited by oxbladder on 12/5/2017 |

The only ones I am finding on feebay are the Blue title incentives. You might want to send an inquiry to IDW for clarification on these books. edited by oxbladder on 12/7/2017 |

What is the book that is missing a value?
Graded means it has been graded by a third party grading company such as CGC or CBCS. Raw means it is a book that has not gone through such a grading process. In your case all your books would be considered "raw". |

First off you have to determine what the market is actually paying for graded copies and you have to be very critical when self grading your books. It doesn't take much to drop a book below 9.8. I would take a look at REALIZED prices on eBay, maybe take a look at subscribing to GoCollect or GPA to see just how the market has been for TWD books. |

For CBCS you have to go to their site and figure out which service tier your books fit into and fill out their form accordingly. There should be tutorials online how to pack your books for shipping to them. Then you ship your books via whichever service you want and then wait a few months for them to grade them and send them back. It is around $50 a book.
For CGC you have to find an online business that has a membership with them and fill out their forms. Again, CGC has different service tiers so you have to visit their site to figure it all out.
For both you will need to have a very good idea of the market value of each book. So you have to try and grade the book yourself as accurately as possible so that you can look online what each book is realizing in value at that grade and that way you have an idea of the FMV (Fair market value) and how much insurance you need and, therefore, which tier your books can be submitted under. |

The guide here is going to be ball park market value. Since it is a guide, which is a snapshot in time, and there are many thousands of book in it it is totally and completely impossible for it to be 100% market accurate. Some values will be off some on. You have to look around the interwebs for actual sales to get a more current snapshot. Even then you can get variations in price specific to your region. |

Carol Danvers VS Ms. Marvel Appearance

Marvel Super-Heroes #13 and Captain Marvel #18 will benefit the most. Mind you MSH13 has already been climbing a lot for the last three years. Ms. Marvel #1 will see some rise but it is fairly common and common in higher grade so the increase will be much lower. Avenging Spider-man #9, other than the Danvers accepting the mantle change isn't that big of a book though in the chase to make gold people have allotted value to it so it too could see a moderate rise in price. Everything will cool down and some values may even drop by the time of release. |
