Can't find GI Joe #1 cover A from Image 2024

oddly seems to be missing, but since they start with H, there might be a databaae glitch or the others are under another series. and comics.org doesn't have it either. got a pic off leagueofcomicgeeks and attached it. you should be able to submit it as a missing variant now. looks like there's a boatload more variants to add too: https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/2063693/gi-joe-1
that would be for this series (always helpful to post a link to the series): https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/gi-joe/piqukp

https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/the-thing-is-big-ben/pcwti . it is showing as a Marvel UK title: THE THING IS BIG BEN 1984 • Volume 1 • UK.
If you search on just USA titles, it does not come up, so not sure what angelo means. of course maybe some admin fixed it before we replied, been known to happen, but they usually say so.

Image Scene seen?

Not sure if that's the same as the other THE Image Scenes, as those seem to be thick mags/tpbs that list Image previews for the upcoming year, vs yours is a thin monthly catalog, looks like Feb 2025? Normally they don't list those, same with Previews and Advance comics. The others may have been grandfathered in, since CPG doesn't list stuff with less than 50% comic story, The odd thing about the other 2 is that one is categorized as a magazine, and the other a Trade Paperback, and both are #1 one-shots. To me, both should be under 1 result for THE Image Scene like it says on the cover (not just Image Scene), and then listed by the year, as neither say #1 on the cover.
1993: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/image-scene/1magazine/pmsqkq
1994: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/image-scene/1trade_paperback/pmsqkp
and there's a 1995 one too. CPG values may be off too, as people are asking crazy prices for them on e**y, and a 1995 one sold for $59.95 this month. No recent sales for the others, but holy cow, $180 to $495 for the 1993? really? It's just a catalog.
so an admin can tell you if yours qualifies or not, but I don't think it does, nor should it, and neither should the other 3 based on current standards.

You're correct, and even Image's site and others have 'Spawn' at the end, but the indicia does not, and that's what CPG is supposed to go by. pic of indicia from 1 of those read comics online sites attached.

see https://comicspriceguide.com/faqs for how they determine value mostly, same as every other guide. They do encourage members to submit value info when it's not there or way off current sale prices, but you need some proof, like e**y or other auction site sales, plus your own experience counts, but 1-2 sales isn't much to go on.

it's not a continuation of the '93-95 ones, as those were previews of the upcoming YEAR for Image comics, and the new series is monthly, just like the free DC, Marvel and other monthly catalogs, which CPG doesn't list either cuz there's not 50% comic story. No value to them most of the time, but sometimes people call out 'real 1st appearance of so and-so' in them and ask a fortune. You could claim the same for nearly every issue of Diamond's Previews catalogs and the old Advance Comics from Capital City.

but they don't qualify for CPG standards, they don't have 50% STORY, and if they added these they'd have to add thousands of past DC Connect, Marvel Previews, Diamond's Previews and other monthly catalogs. ain't gonna happen I don't think.

There is already all of the DC Connect books in the database, and most if not all of the Marvel Free Previews books, so that has already happened for the most part. I guess we must leave it up to the powers that be to make the final decisions on these kind of promo books.

ok, my bad, I hadn't ever searched for them cuz all I've seen by admins is that stuff like that doesn't qualify. I thought maybe those were old additions grandfathered in before they changed the standards, but I see they're from the last few years. so me confused, need admin to explain contradiction. if they add the new Image ones too, fine with me, was just going by what I've read before.

do you mean they're not listed? because the 1st 2 are, but not the 3rd.
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/yuppies-from-hell/pmvsl
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/son-of-yuppies-from-hell/plqxc
comics.org has the 3rd one, but no creator credits: https://www.comics.org/issue/848357/
for future reference, when reporting missing issues, read this post, and do that as much as you can: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=8
provide creator credits, and at least a link to an image. comics.org and leagueofcomicgeeks.com are 2 good resources, although the league doesn't have the 3rd one. they have the other 2 with creator credits: https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/2829429/yuppies-from-hell-1
https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/7023271/son-of-yuppies-from-hell-1
and of course marvel.com should have pics etc, didn't go check there. an admin will come along and add the 3rd one at some point.

Canadian here, My uncle's estate had about 100 comics with Archie's and Ripley's from the 60's and 70's. is there a How-to sell my collection quickly and fair priced? I can up load 8 a day here, finding it really hard to locate them in the DB and there isn't a quick Export method or "how-to" I can find yet. Looks like an amazing site, but I'm just trying to sell 500 different things and comic's is one of them. Thanks, sorry if this is post 100 of the same.

the how-to stuff is mostly in their videos on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3eOHtGDGIs0GGohUDuypf3TlQM2aupdo
in the links at the top right of the site pages, under 'About', you'll find the FAQs page and other pages. the 'How To Use CPG' link is the one I posted that goes to their videos.
as for finding your issues, look inside the book to see the indicia/publishing info paragraph, that will give you the correct title to look for. CPG should have pretty much all the Archies and Ripleys.
and see my search tips on this thread, 4th post down, that should help too: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=12110
if you still can't find something, post it on the https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/topics.aspx?ForumID=21 forum and someone will help you out. have fun...

Hi,
there's all kinds of non-sports card price guides already. both printed and online. most charge a fee, some don't. a few examples:
most famous along with Beckett: https://www.nonsportupdate.com/how-to-subscribe . that page shows you the subscription rates for the printed mag, comes out 6 times a year.
https://pages.ebay.com/priceguide/ . you may know this one already.

https://nonsportrealm.com/ free.
https://www.beckett.com/price-guides/non-sports . very expensive in my opinion.

there's more, some are just for graded cards, so search "non sports trading card price guide" on your fave search engine and see what all there is to choose from. CPG would have to hire a bunch more people, get more webspace/servers etc, may not be worth it to them. Been asked for before too, along with a toy price guide, ain't happened yet.

Another nice guide in this format would be one for coins, stamps. I have Numista for coins, but its not very user friendly when trying to suggest value changes like on here, and I haven't found one for stamps yet.
Anybody else into coins, stamps?

Ben

Hey Ben,
I assume you've done google searches for coin and stamp price guides? seems to be plenty to choose from, both printed style and online guides, groups, forums, ebay has it's own like for trading cards etc. Of course some charge a fee, or are just for pricing info and offer no collection cataloging like CPG does. I once had a few old gold coins I inherited and found multiple pricing sites, can't remember the 1 I decided to use, maybe Heritage related or NGC. None 'like' CPG really. Have you asked on the NGC forum (although if like CGC they may not allow mention of competitors, but maybe only if grading, and price guide only sites are ok)? https://boards.ngccoin.com/
For Michael, if you have enough 'worthy' cards/sets, the subscription to Non-Sports update isn't bad, and then you have the whole mag in your hands instead of doing searches and typing on a site to look things up. You can learn to use nonsportsrealm and get help on their forums if needed. I see they now claim to be "the #1 trading card database for your collection". don't cost nuthin' either.

My card collection is small. A few years ago I started collecting items autographed by Loise Jameson, Leela of "Dr Who." I then noticed her Dr Who trading cards and bought of few of those, along with an occasional other character if the price was good or rare card. I even found a very unique card; an official Topps autograph card of Martha Jones, played by Freema Agyeman, that she crossed off her autograph. Topps sent it out like that and now I have it. I spoke to a group who collect non-sport autograph cards and no one else knew of a similar card. Being unique and an error card I have had problems pricing it. I have had problems with other sites, they are either not user friendly or dont have my cards. I didnt know about the ebay app, I need to try it. CPG is easy to use and would be perfect for cards.

I dont know the man-power, time, or money it would take but the format is here. If any admin read this; just start with a couple cards I assume this data base was far from complete at its start. Possibly just do non-sport. I would bet this would become the #1 place for card pricing if made similar. You have the "tools" to do this. If this comic site makes profit a card site would be money in the bank.

whilst I hate promoting e**y, if you click on this search result you'll find 18 worldwide listings for her signed Topps Doctor Who cards, and several of yours, but not with the sig crossed out, so still hard to know how much that might go for. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=DOCTOR+WHO+Topps+%28Autograph%2Cautographed%2Cautographs%2Csigned%2Csignature%29++FREEMA+AGYEMAN&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_odkw=DOCTOR+WHO+Topps+%28Autograph%2Cautographed%2Csigned%2Csignature%29++FREEMA+AGYEMAN&_osacat=0
sold auctions only had 1 of hers from a UK seller with a big list of actors, hers was $122 US,. but not same as your card.

a google search with "signed OR autographed Freema Agyeman doctor who card topps" will turn up more. have fun..

Guinevere and the Divinity Factory UPC

this is an odd series. from what I found on other sites (you do know about leagueofcomicgeeks and mycomicshop, right?), there's a 2019 series with the same #1 cover, and the 2024 series with the same #1 cover. UPC numbers are different. MCS has pics of only 2 of the 2019 series, and the league has all 5 issues for the 2019-2021 series, but not the 2024 series. MCS's pics for their 2024 listing has the same covers as the 2019 series seen on the league. So looks like the 2024's are a re-release of 2019-2021 issues? Plus new alternate covers.
https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comics/series/146443/guinevere-and-the-divinity-factory --has more alternate covers
https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=60871121
Pocket Jacks site is useless, as is their ebay store for info. comics.org doesn't have it. didn't feel like doing more googling, so will leave that up to others.
and just so you don't get submitted covers rejected, you need to tighten up your cropping a bit more, still have white margins on most scans lately. they may still get approved, but better to not take the chance. copy pics from elsewhere if you can't get the cropping to the edge of the comic a bit better. I didn't yup your cover subs from earlier today because of that, but they're gone now, so may have been approved.
the league usually has good larger pics, but not always production covers, so you have to double check with other sites or e**y actual comic pics to check for UPC boxes etc sometimes.. It's just quicker to copy and upload to CPG than scan everything.
have fun figuring this series out admins smile

While there IS a Target exclusive edition apparently due to it having a poster and that notation on the cover, this was also distributed to comic shops and other retailers back in Sept, not sure why CPG didn't get one.
https://www.target.com/p/joker-the-world-target-exclusive-edition-hardcover/-/A-92798582

the league has it and lists the creators for each story: https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/1192992/joker-the-world-hc . Or, if you own it and can scan the credits page and post it on this thread, or type the list, that would help the admins a lot.
