Missing Title/ variant

Hi. it's always helpful if you can attach a pic or a link to one. also, read this post and try to do that the next time, that what it's there for: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=8 I attached a pic you or CPG can use. You can submit missing variants yourself, and that's the preferred method, here's how: Get a good square-on scan (not a camera pic), .jpg, .png, or .gif format preferred, cropped to the edges of the comic. If you can't, then find them on the net, with no watermarks, no signatures, no pro-graded ones, no bagged/boarded pics unless it's a factory polybag, and try to make sure they're a published version, not a pre-production pic (like a Previews solicitation often is), as those get changed in production all the time. Best to resize them if you can to about 500x700px, but CPG can do that too. Use the "Report Missing Variant" function found in the listings for individual books. You must be logged in to do this. Navigate to the specific book that is missing a variant. In this case, that's https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/monster-in-my-pocket/1/phtqlwx Select the 'Variants' tab found next to 'Values'. You should see a red box titled "Report Missing Variants" on the right side at the bottom of any listed listed variants. Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can upload the pic and enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required). This includes what it's called, an image, price, artist, publication date, etc. This makes it much faster for the admins to process the request. This info might help for future stuff too: https://comicspriceguide.com/faqs for a few How To answers about submitting missing images and reporting missing issues etc. Watch CPG's 'How To' youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3eOHtGDGIs0GGohUDuypf3TlQM2aupdo The more you knooowwwwww.... edited by collectibleshop on 2/25/2024 |

yupped all. found corroborating credits on a review site. These comics with multiple stories and creative teams are always a pain to verify. Also yupped the Harley Quinn 37s. Also resub'd Tomeu Morey for Batman 142A cover artist TEAM, other sites note that too.
I don't know why the CPG staff doesn't fill in all that info when the comics are new and they're adding them to the site, my guess is not enough personpower for the added time, but would seem to me to be part of the duties. now you can go yup all the pics I've submitted for Dark Horse, and Whatnot, and creators for whatnot's Astrobots
And finish noping the bad pics and telling those people why they don't qualify, I've given up on doing that. |

I'd think adding creators for the staff might be quicker than for us, but yeah, it takes time and most likely they don't have enough people to add that task to the list. Plus the numerous misspelling of names in the database can make it tough to find the correct one. The subtitle has it one way, the database another.
As for nopes for pics and "I feel bad doing that because they don't actually get any of the feedback on why it was noped," you know you can send them a PM and tell them, right? I quit doing that due to either no one reading the PM, or getting pissy about being noped even if you nicely explain why. Your mileage/luck may be different. Thanks for the yups. |

you can submit them yourself into the system by using the Report Missing Issue link and form found at the bottom right of the search results for that title. It's under the green 'Create a new box' button. Click it and you'll get a page to fill in as much info as you can. if you provide pics, MAKE SURE they're not pre-production pics like Previews often has, which apparently CPG used for the #1 pics. So I attached pics of all 4 issues for you and them to use. And always post a link to the series, it saves a bit of time. thanks. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/zomvikings/phwtcs |

it helps a ton if you attach a pic or a link to one, and a link to the CPG listing it goes with. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/transformersback-to-the-future/1/phpukvs this variant seems to be better known as the Jolzar virgin cover variant, so took a bit of searching to find a pic, but found one and attached it for you or CPG to use. You can submit it yourself thru the system, which is how they prefer people do it. |

hopefully it gets fixed soon because I need to see all the issues Roy Thomas worked on. how is it your member name doesn't show on the members list if you've been a member since 2018 according to the forum profile? are you also byob2005 by chance? I wanted to PM you some other checklist sources since some may not be ok with cpg to post. you know you can do a google search for 'roy thomas checklist' right? put his name in quotes and add '-baseball', like this: "roy thomas" checklist -baseball . that will cut out the baseball guy results.
comics.org has a list of 6009 issues matching his name, but many will be duplicates/foreign reprints. https://www.comics.org/checklist/name/Roy%20Thomas/ keycollectorcomics also has one that is broken down by publisher, may be easier to use. scroll down the google results a little and you'll see it. and if you're also byob2005, see if an admin can get your IDs to match to whichever you prefer. ronbatman can help with that. his profile page is https://comicspriceguide.com/members/Ronbatman
'course CPG may get things fixed quickly too. edited by collectibleshop on 3/5/2024 |

I cropped those two and attached them to save CPG the time. also, please make up your mind on how Inhyuk Lee spells their 1st name. subtitles sometimes say Inhyuk, but database says In-Hyuk. Lots of that going on with hyphenated names. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/ultimate-x-men/1B/piutjsx edited by collectibleshop on 3/7/2024 |

if a direct OR newsstand comic isn't listed with the issue, then they just don't have that image. they've been working on adding more newsstands for a while now, but that's thousands of comics. And sometimes the directs are missing too, but easier to find pics of those on the net. Members can help by submitting scans of 'missing' issues like that, that are up to CPG standards with the Report Missing Variant function under the Variants tab of that comic. Pic standards: Get a good square-on scan (not a camera pic), .jpg, .png, or .gif format preferred, cropped to the edges of the comic. If you can't, then find them on the net, with no watermarks, no signatures, no pro-graded ones, no bagged/boarded pics unless it's a factory polybag, and try to make sure they're a published version, not a pre-production pic (like a Previews solicitation often is), as those get changed in production all the time. Best to resize them if you can to about 500x700px, but CPG can do that too. comics.org is a good resource for ready-to-submit pics if they have them. as for "Ex 2: issue comes up but does is not same cover." need an example. there's pic mistakes that haven't been caught from all ages, but these days for moderns there are SO many variants it's hard to keep up and get them all straight all the time, as some variations are very minor. Nothing you can do about that except report mistake pics on the Database & Missing Issues forum. and for general search tips learned over the years here: See this thread for my search tips (4th post down): https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=12110 https://comicspriceguide.com/faqs for a few How To answers about submitting missing images and reporting missing issues etc. Watch CPG's 'How To' youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3eOHtGDGIs0GGohUDuypf3TlQM2aupdo edited by collectibleshop on 3/12/2024 |

artist names Star Wars Doctor Aphra
collectibleshop
|
https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/star-wars-doctor-aphra/19B/phwrnxs has the cover artist's 1st name as Stephen, but database and other issues say Steven. and just for consistency's sake: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/star-wars-doctor-aphra/32D/pippowy has subtitle names as Ema Lupacchino, database says Emanuela Lupacchino. pick one. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/star-wars-doctor-aphra/36E/pistjyx has the subtitle name as Josemaria Casanovas, and database says Jose Casanovas Jr.. pick one. there's hundreds of those type inconsistencies, so could spend years on them, but try to get the staff to use what's in the database, or if a new creator, have it match the indicia and then the subtitle. I know that's how it's supposed to work, but constantly finding new issues/titles that have variation spellings between the database and subtitle, as well as older issues. Sometimes makes it hard to find the right name when there's no sig on the art or it's unreadable, and if there's more than 1 creator with the same last name. Then it adds time to go look it up on another site if I feel like it. Thanks. Submitted a bunch of cover artists for this series, so anyone who wants to add to their rank can yup away. Under Marvel on the verify data page. plenty of other titles there with easy to verify creators too, so paw thru and get the list cut down a bit. edited by collectibleshop on 3/12/2024 |
