I've suggest both things more than once in the past. why not do both?

thunderize, have you checked your CPG messages? your submitted pics for Convergence and Darkstars need cropping to the edges for CPG standards, and the Comic Talk mag pic is not good, with the large glare area. If you don't have a scanner, it's better to grab pics (if they have them) from comics.org. lots of people lately submitting poorly cropped pics, even members with mid-level rankings. kinda given up noping some, because the submitters don't check back or know to check their Rank page for misses, and some get mad when you tell them, believe or not. someone needs to add info about cropping where people will see it before they submit, like a popup when you click the add missing scan image, cuz no one reads the post about it. and too many people verify the bad pics, so they get added. running into a LOT of poorly cropped older and newer images in the database lately, but don't know when they were added of course. and I'm not nearly as picky as ohs69grad smile

update--thunderize has replied about the pics, so he knows.

you know you can fix that yourself, right? hit the trashcan icon on the verify page submission and it'll delete the price, then you can do it over. haven't you had to this before? happens to me all the time when whipping thru cover price additions.

it is missing, and was asked about a bit over 2 weeks ago, but apparently still not added to the database, and no admin replied to that thread. see here: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=18211

then methinks lueegee needs to have a talk with ohs69grad and other admins, cuz all I've EVER read and been told is that pics need to be cropped to the edges, like every new book CPG gets in every week.

uh gil, your pic for X-men Mutant Massacre 4th print isn't cropped to CPG or ohs69grad's standards. we're having this discussion on this thread too: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=18242&MessageID=42483#post42483
didn't you used to tell people that too?

Ron

uh, so why use the poorly cropped pic instead of the 1 I posted in that thread? I found a better pic than mine now, so attached it. waiting for you to weigh in on the cropped pic part of the New Test thread so we can get the official view, thanks.

it isn't just that one. all the 2023 What Ifs are the same way. there's multiple variations on what they title the various What If singles and series, despite how it's spelled on the cover, and I don't know how all the indicias are done. do a search on just What If and see.

Cover Scans for Wolverine (Vol 7)

couple tips for the future: post a link to the issue in the CPG database, it helps people to find them faster. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/wolverine/37/pisuosq
scans need to be cropped to the edges of the comic, and out of bags. wasn't sure if yours were bagged, hard to tell by the margins. so I copied and cropped them and reduced the huge size and attached them below.
you can submit missing variants directly yourself instead of using the forum, it gets them in the review process quicker, usually. so you can copy and use the pics I re-did. here's how:
Navigate to the specific book that is missing a variant.
Select the 'Variants' tab found next to 'Values'.
You should see a red box titled "Report Missing Variants" on the right side below any listed variants.
Clicking the box will bring up a page where you can upload the pic and enter information specific to the variant you are reporting (not all is required). This includes what it's called, price, artist, publication date, etc. This makes it much faster for the admins to process the request.
See this post for how to check on variants you've submitted: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=15583
now ya know how we do it do it...

here's the guidelines for pics, from 2015, and some of it is out of date or ignored now it seems:
https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=5
"Covers must be:
  • 1. Cropped properly. No background showing.
  • 2. No digital camera pictures.
  • 3. No covers with URL, company watermarks or logos.--except there's been companies/stores printing their name and sometimes URL on their exclusive covers for a while now, so those are allowed.
  • 4. No covers with scanline patterns will be accepted.
  • 5. No covers scans with the comic still in the bag and board.
  • 6. No grainy or blurry scans.
  • 7. Adult covers with nudity must be edited with black boxes.--yet I see them submitted without the black boxes all the time, so is this still a rule?
The only exception to the above rules are Golden Age covers."

And Ronbatman from 2022 said:
1. Type - .jpg .png and .gif
2. Size - 5MB max limit
3. Dimensions - Less than 1.2k

dunno why no one from CPG will answer this. I looked at the other posts about it too. As I suggested before, email ronbatman at ron[at]comicspriceguide.com (use the @ symbol of course) and send him the pic you're trying to submit, and maybe he can tell you why you're getting that error.

I noticed all the later Whitman Pre-packs and 3-packs were spelled Paks. Not how packs is spelled. I got prices submitted for the missing ones, but when I went back to the title again, all I get now is the too-common and annoying "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error, over and over. worked the 1st time tho. cleared history and cache, still get the error message, which comes up on all kinds of titles, many times when going from page 1 to page 2. dunno what's up with that.

Batman Long Halloween special edition

if the indicia says the title is Batman the Long Halloween Special #1, then it's right where it should be, reprint or not. now, they could add it under a Special tab with the regular series, or add it in the series under #1 as a reprint, but otherwise they go by the title/indicia.

I get the error when searching on the regular site search. yesterday most of the older tweety & sylvester series all got the error. I recollect that most of the time I get it is for older comics, like golden age, but it can happen with just about anything, and sometimes the next day the same series is fine again. or like the T&S series I noted, it worked fine the 1st time thru doing prices, then later it got the error, but the newer series' didn't. more fun for Bryan...

ok, I missed noticing it's listed as a variant with the Dec 2021 special. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman-the-long-halloween-special/1special/phuxnsy
so yes, it should be separated out from that edition and put with either the regular #1 of the series or listed with that under a Special tab.

Australian cover prices

so what's the official position on using or not using Australian cover prices in the guide? For instance, this series by Yaffa Publishing, https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/archies-adventures/pkxwny all have the cover prices listed, but those are Aussie prices, not equivalent to US prices. I see this on and off with Aus issues. While they do use 'c' and call it cents, it's not the same thing/value as US cents. with UK only editions of most US comics, they're usually noted as 'British pence price' as a sub-note and not priced with them, so it would be consistent if the Aussie reprints were like that too, no?

Australian cover prices

I think Ron or someone said before that since the vast majority of members here are US based, and most of our comics are US made, CPG just prefers to use US prices and make sub-notations for British and other currencies. and it would be a lot of extra work to check currency prices from how many countries, figure the exchange rate for the 5 seconds it lasts, and get them entered. they have enough to do now, and there's still thousands of US comics with no cover prices entered now (I'm making a dent in them, bit by bit, year by year, when I find them off verify submissions etc), so the staff doesn't need that much more work.
So notating they're the X country price is fine as long as it's consistent, but it's hit and miss with many Aus comics (many have no prices listed, others have the cover price but under the regular Cover Price column, so it looks like it's a US price), and some members don't seem to get the message that those cover prices are not US prices and they keep submitting them and getting noped.
So some definitive answer about the Aus ones would be nice, and then I can bookmark the post and point the newbies and others to it.

Atomic Mouse #53,54 don't exist?

collectibleshop

whilst submitting prices for various Charlton series, it seems in this one, https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/atomic-mouse/rc that #53 and 54 don't exist. Comics.org notes: "O******** has listed #53-54, but there is no evidence they actually exist." MCS has the numbers listed, as do some others places, but no pics. And other sites say it only went to #52. I'm thinking after all this time that if they haven't been confirmed, they don't exist.

and about half of the Charlton titles I looked at before I quit for the night came up with the annoying "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." dunno what's with that.
