Ever see a mostly white cover that has longitudinal black streaks, like they're printed ON the cover? They don't come off so they're not some type of grime. They're not magic marker marks. They not color lift. They look like it came off the printing press that way.
What's that specific defect called?

Those marks are from the rollers in the printing process. Ink may get tracked onto one or the ink my not have dried and it will track onto the books. What to call them? Whatever you want but production error is probably a really basic and encompassing term.

No problem! Nice to see a few other familiar faces around. (That's a cool cover. Too bad it got damaged by poor handling upset I really hate how companies have a white or light colour cover and them slap a dark back cover on the book. What do you expect from them though? they are just in it for the up front money. They aren't collectors.)
