Hi Everyone,
Are all DC silverage 1st appearances significant?
Showcase 4 is obvious as the Flash was virtually a new character...same can be said for Showcase 22 1 St GL.
What about others like Batman 151 1st silverage Penguin or Batman 171 1st silverage Riddler or Green Lantern 16 1st silverage Star Sapphire? Are any of these characters significantly different than there goldenage versions?

Regardless of which company first appearances are not always significant. If the character becomes entrenched in mythos then that first appearance will have more importance. There is also a lot of subjectivity is the importance of characters (or events). To a Green Lantern fan the first Star Shapphire is going to have much more significance than to a Superman fan.
All this being said, it never hurts to have the first appearance of any character because you never know when the character will catch on. Sometimes right away sometimes decades. Not gave a care about Rocket Racoon until just a few years ago now his first appearance is worth quite a bit. Same with the Scott Lang Ant-Man. You just never know what the future will bring.
