Hello,
The golden age title "Lawbreakers Always Lose!" (1948-1949, issues #1-10) has the wrong publisher attached to the series. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/lawbreakers-always-lose/scwp
The database says that it was published by "Crime Bureau Stories", but that is incorrect. https://comicspriceguide.com/publishers/crime-bureau-stories
"Lawbreakers Always Lose!" (1948-1949) was in fact published by Timely, and the old Marvel (Timely) logo is clearly visible on the covers from issues 6 through 10. https://comicspriceguide.com/publishers/timely
Regards,
-Marc

that's cuz CPG goes by the indicia, and the indicia for #1-10 says it was published by Crime Bureau Stories. See comics.org indicia pic for issue #1: https://www.comics.org/issue/211206/image/ . Starting with #6 they added the Marvel logo. As noted on comics.org starting with #6: Publisher's Brand: Marvel Comic [round logo] Indicia / Colophon Publisher: Crime Bureau Stories Inc. So both publishers are correct, but CPG goes by what the indicia says. happens a lot when companies are absorbed by bigger ones, sometimes they keep the old indicia publisher name in the comic, but it's owned by the bigger company. comics.org is a good place to check out info like this, when they have it. edited by collectibleshop on 9/30/2025

Interesting!
Curiously, the Apache Kid (1950-56) https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/apache-kid/siyr is listed as an Atlas title in the CPG database but the indicia publishers are listed as Medalion Publishing Corp. and Canam Publishers Sales Corp. at www.comics.org https://www.comics.org/series/808/
There seems to be some quirky inconsistencies in the early days of Marvel/Timely/Atlas publications.

yeah, it's a bit screwy trying to keep all the publishers straight when they get bought out multiple times, or restart under another publisher. Look at how many 'imprints' are under Marvel. And under Atlas they don't list Medalion Publishing Corp. or Canam Publishers Sales Corp, which is what you say the indicia says. not a huge deal and it would take them years to 'correct' all that type of 'mistake' and not worth the effort.
