I just want to double check with the community to make sure my GI Joe #1, Nov2024, Kirkham cover is legit. I only question it as the premium cover is a wrap over of the "A" cover. The premium cover is card stock with white insides, no markings. Back is standard showing the different covers you can get, UPC, and different shop logos. Inside is the "A" cover and its back, with all the standard markings, indicia on inside this cover, and a different UPC on the "A" back. Also leagueofcomicgeeks.com states this is a $19.99 comic, but mine does not show a price other than the $4.99. Anyone else own or seen this edition that can verify? Thanks

Series: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/gi-joe/1/piwthqw . I tried to find any pics of the insides but couldn't. was hoping an e**y seller might have them, but the ones I checked didn't (didn't check every one tho), and no one mentioned the outer cover was over the A cover. So since it's a Gotham City Limit exclusive, ask them: gclshopcontact[@]gmail.com.
99.9% chance it's legit, as who would bother to print up 'fake' foil covers and staple/glue them to the regular A edition? Gotham's site has them priced at 19.99 now (but 29.99 on e**y) but that doesn't mean that was the original retail, so ask them. found another site claiming a sale price of $7+change too. e**y is all over the place, but why are people asking over $19.99 when another seller is still selling them ON e**y for 19.99? And why does Gotham on ebay and other sellers say it's by Boom Studios, when it's from Image/Skybound? and why can't sellers get it straight that it's spelled G.I. with the periods, and not GI?
these and other questions will maybe answered on a future episode of......the Twilight Zone. neeny-noony, neeny-noony..
CPG is also missing this variant if someone wants to add it. Limited to 1,000 copies. the league shows 73 different covers, CPG only has like 32, so plenty to add. https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/2063693/gi-joe-1 .

Thanks for the thorough answer. I already added this as a variant with info and pics from leagueocomicgeeks.com. I only had the slimmest doubt of it being a fake as the seam, staples, and everything else looked solid. Wouldnt be much profit putting that much work in a forgery that you charge $20 for. Leagueogeeks stating the price at $19.99 made me assume I would see this price somewhere on the book, that was prob the main red flag for me. I will ask Gotham City (thanks for gmail address) mostly curious at the price tag. I ll post reply if I get one.

"Gee, I" dont know about the spelling thing. Everyones in a hurry and many searches dont require the periods, but as we have seen on this very site, that can lead to an alternate reality or might have just been a duplicate listing. I admit to being guilty not using apostrophes as I adopted a casual "texting" style to posts.

the spelling beef was more aimed at sellers, not so much forum posters. most of use will shorthand stuff like that cuz it's just faster and we all know what you mean. but sellers are obliged to spell stuff correctly or miss out on some persnickety buyers seeing their listing. after another test search, it appears e**y is also matching it with both spellings if only one is used, although I got 1 more result with just GI than G.I.
and to make it more confusing, I just noticed the cover of the A issue has it as GI with no periods, as does the previewsworld listing, so did they change that at some point back, or is it just Image's series doing that? I didn't feel like looking thru all the Joe titles to see who has what, so what does the indicia say? both comics.org and the league use G.I. on it tho.
hope Gotham City answers you so you and CPG know the correct cover price.

After numerous attempts to copy paste email, I believe I still failed. I dont think last post is readable but Gotham City replied that my comic was "super legit" and that Image produced them over the "A" cover. It should have their logo on back. Price not on comic due to it being exclusive to their shop and that they set they price. They also said "thanks for the support" and "YO JOE."

good that they answered you, now someone can add this variant. by what you wrote, I guess 19.99 is the 'cover' price they set.
I got the attachment to open, not sure why you did it that way (didn't know I had openofficedraw), and I copied the text, so here it is, just to verify what you posted (I removed the email address):

Hey Michael!
Super legit copy you have there! Image produced them with the A Cover under the Foil cover! It should have our logo on the back, and they don't print the price on the comic because it is an exclusive to our shop alone and we set the price! Thanks for the support and YO JOE!

Thanks. I tried copy/pasting email but didnt work, got an error msg from page. This was the result of trial and error, I kind of mash buttons till I get a result. I wanted to copy instead of restate what email said so I wouldnt mis-word anything.
