Grading and evaluating some back issues I have bought recently has highlighted how random the values are given to issues 8.0 and below on the scale. Some even show 8.0 issues to be worth less than half of 9.4 issues. That seems off. I understand there could be some variation between titles but I would think older comic books would hold there value better in the 8.0-6.0 range since it will be harder to find anything above due to age, wear, and tear.

The market has shifted towards collectors only wanting the highest grades due CGC grading. It's very disappointing, but collectors will hold out for NM these days. Lower grades are harder to sell.

The price difference that range that far apart are for graded books, raw books tend to stay closer in price when the grades are close.
