Yesterday, I had someone email me and asks for some advice about comics. Nothing unusual about that. Except when he said he found 80 issues from the late '30s and early '40s. I was skeptical but decided to push a little further. I googled his name and he runs a business that picks up junk. Ok, that makes sense how he could find something like that. Then he sent me a picture of All-American Comics 61 and I looked at his collection. The first appearance of Solomon Grundy seemed to be about a 7.0 if I were guessing. He called our offices and we spoke about the best options. I explained exactly what I would do if they were mine and congratulated him on the find.
Think about his, He got paid to haul away, 70 to 80,000 worth of comics. Deals are out there my friend. Ron

One of those stories where you wish it were you who lucked out with a find like that.

Did you tell him one of his best options would be for him to let you take them off his hands for around, say $10,000

you forgot to start it off with, "This one time, at band camp..." All good stories start off like that, don'tcha know?
and is "Deals are out there my friend" the new "Stay thirsty, my friends" for comic collectors? Maybe Marvel should bring back Not Brand Echh and change it to 'Dos Echhies' and devote it to amazing untold tales of comic book deals and use your 'slogan'. edited by collectibleshop on 5/11/2021

Most of the time when people think they hit the jackpot it's something like a reprint of Action Comics 1. This one was legit. Honestly, I was surprised by it.
I would have loved to offer him $10,000 for the books but one of our main mantras is to help regardless of the gain. I probably saved this guy several thousand dollars and he is a free member. We believe the way to attract new collectors is to be welcoming and honest with people.
CollectibleShop, you're killing me smalls.
