I am pretty sure we have had this discussion but which should be used for the publish dates? I am validating the publish date for GHOST RIDER: TRAIL OF TEARS #1 (https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/ghost-rider-trail-of-tears/1/tiwumw). User Black Dragon Comics listed the publish date as April 2007 which is validated by the Marvel Wikia (http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Ghost_Rider:_Trail_of_Tears_Vol_1_1) but conflicted by the Marvel website (https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/5944/ghost_rider_trail_of_tears_2007_1) which claims the publish date as Feb. 2007.
Which is to be used in this case (IMO Marvel website)?

The indicia date found inside the comic will be the correct date as used by CPG. For Marvel and DC (and maybe others) this can be confusing as the indicia date is commonly two months ahead of the actual publication date. This is not dissimilar to many magazines whose print dates are usually ahead the date they hit the newsstand. With that in mind, the April 2007 date is probably the correct indicia date which would have hit stands in February. Those with more profound knowledge can explain why Marvel and DC choose to date issues like this.
