Is it just me or lately having had many offers on here and many sales done I have to ask this questions:
Sellers accept offers but never get back to you or send and payment info Some sellers accept offers but never send any info over or an invoice then turn you over for not paying?? Sellers listing a book for one price then changing the deal after the offer was accepted or telling that person "I can't find that book" really? Seller's putting individual books up for sale then they expect you to but the whole run..huh?? Then why are you listing INDIVIDUAL books? If they have books that are raw 9.4 and it's going for $3 they list in raw as $5 or more???
Since when did any of us expect to get FULL value for ALL of out books so if my collection is worth let's say $1000 and it only has some key books but mostly $2-3 books then they should get the full market price for these books? What planet does this happen in?
I'm gotten plenty of books for lower than book value for COMMON books of course with high end books you might have to give but the lower ends common...

I have only ever done one transaction through this website and it went well. I made an offer it was accepted and after some back and forth and wheeling and dealing the transaction was done within that time period as well.
What you have experienced is common in transactions on the web ... and real life. People are allowed to ask what they want for the books they have and you are under no obligation to buy them if you feel the price is too high. Pretty much most books are common so it comes down to regional demand sometimes. If a seller had to dish out more for book that they now want to sell they are going to ask for more money than they paid out. If they bought it for $3 then they are going to sell it for more regardless of what anyone thinks is the price. At least until they realize (or not) that it is not going to sell for this price. But you would be surprised that even common books that are priced higher can and do sell all the time.
In the end though you are completely free to not buy books that you feel are over priced. I'm sure down the road people will accuse you of selling books for too much money. Collectors always want to buy books cheaper and will complain to no end if they feel they are being charged too much even though they are under no obligation to buy those books. edited by oxbladder on 7/26/2018

OK you answered one of my questions how about the other's?
Any reasoning behind those?
I don't sell books here but if I did and have had success I wouldn't screw over people who I've had good dealings with or accept offers and never send and invoice etc. but leave the buyer in limbo...Christ their just comic books

First of all, I've bought several times from this site and been happy with the results. I had one time where someone never responded and that was frustrating.
We are currently working on a plan to evaluate sellers to help with these issues. They will be judged on responsiveness (automated through our system) and shipping and accuracy. If they don't get back to people their score will be lowered. After a few times of unresponsiveness, they will be removed from selling. If you're listing books to sell we want you to sell them. If you're listing books and then ignoring people, go somewhere else.
Overall, this is a complex issue because sometimes it's the seller who is unresponsive or dishonest and sometimes it's the buyer who is trying to scam or has unrealistic expectations. Our goal is to make a safe place where people can buy and sell with confidence.

Wow - great rant. Very entertaining. On rare occasion I have sold a book and then not been able to find it - I'm a collector, not a retail store! I am sure others here have had similar experience.
I agree there perhaps needs to be a better way to coordinate selling and payment. Personally I have backed out of one deal because seller wanted way too much for shipping.
At my business - you cannot complain unless you suggest at least one solution to the problem. Suggested solutions:
1) Tie a UPC bar code to each product and offer printable labels with grade/price for collection. Bar code reader could be tied directly to CPG online or offline and upload/process later. (overnight when not so busy). This would provide better sales and better inventory management control. Perhaps a platinum membership for this additional service?
2) On no planet do you get full price except maybe for a rare or hot comic.
3) You can sell all your comics to me and then you will not have all this aggravation
Yeah - that's it - I like solution #3 the best. but that is just me.

It does happen to me as well. If you sell on eBay it happens there too. Just my two cents...

When I First got back into collecting it was with the purpose of putting together full runs and stories soIi could sit down and read my comics both on my own and with my kids. So, I started hitting bulk lots on ebay and attending actual auctions in person.
As a result there were a lot of doubles and random one off comics mostly quarter bin fodder. So I googled comic book values so I could know what price to resell my unwanted books for and this site came up. I joined after about a week of browsing the guide and I've been here ever since. Problem is I've never had a single sale through this site. I've listed up 70 or so books and found it easier to just list them else where. Mainly due to the condition of the books and the commonality of them. Not many people are dying to get their hands on a 6.0 copy of NFL Superpro #1.
HOWEVER...... I've purchased many books through CPG and I have had great success in doing so. (I'm actually browsing a few members collections and have some interests right now) but to my point..... I noticed that for those who are not passionate collectors who are motivated to visit this site on a daily basis they may inherit a stack of comics and list them for sale only to give up and go else where to sell them and the may never come back to the site at all much less log in and check messages.
Perhaps CPG might try contacting members who have "gone idle" after a certain period of time let's say (for example) after two months of inactivity on one's account. That mamber might get an email from CPG asking what the deal is and if it's a free account with comics listed for sale to ask them if they are still for sale and whether or they have been sold by other means. and if as a result there's no reply to that email then those listings just won't appear in the results when the site pulls the data for that issue for that particular seller.
Just an idea..... and a very long winded rant, for that I'm sorry.

Don't judge I haven't slept in three days.... it's hard to see what I'm typing right now.

You're not alone Expander. I've not had anything in the way of nibbles on books I've listed for sale on CPG either. Of course I don't expect much as they are all modern books, but I do frequently check to see if particular books are listed in anyone's 'Want List' so I know there's an interest in some of them.
Perhaps in the future CPG could bridge that gap and provide love connection e-mails between those listing books and those with them on their want lists? I know that automated e-mails can get annoying to receive and to manage, but it would certainly help with getting eyeballs on listings. And eyeballs on listings is why I think a lot of us end up using that "other" site which takes all of our money.

How you doing with Ebay Tim? Any closer to getting the global shipping program on your listings? Let me know when you do.

So far not enough sale with feedback. From what I can tell those features will be available to me once i have a seller feedback of ten or higher and I'm limited to ten listings per month right now. Although I've had six sales only three of them have bothered to leave feedback. Slow going but I'll let you know when I can ship outside the U.S.
I've got a few lots from Fantastic Four, Wolverine, Namor, Conan and Vampirella that I would like to list but I have to wait until I can list them. If I had been paying closer attention I would have put them up sooner. I was very excited when my Atari Jaguar sold for over $500.00 though! hopefully I can get things moving along better when September rolls around.
