That's amazing you guys. I am also DC first Marvel second. Batman and Tec are my two big titles. I need 9 Batmans and for Tec I have from 226-present with a bunch lower issues including the chewed up 34 that is my image. Basement, you have the greatest Tec collection I have ever encountered. Ruk, your collection is also incredible. I love the golden age titles you have chased (new and Adventure Comics)

but Gerber Rarity means less than 50 around
Gerber 8 is even less
I have several Gerber 7 and 8s
not famous ones-stuff no one has heard of but they are part of our history-our life
Now to me that is the key but listen---I am old and grey and still waiting for my pay here
so take this as the babbling of an ancient Canuk

You guys put my collection to shame. I am also DC over the others. Mostly Batman and Detective, but mine are complete only from the the early-mid 60's. Same with my Brave and the Bold and World's Finest Comics collections, both complete from the early 60's.
My first goal was to get complete collections of my 4 major DC titles from my birthday up. I need 3 batman issues (182, 185, 188) to do so. One day I'd like to get everything from January 1960 up for my 4 big DC titles...one day.
Some of the highlights of my collection are Detective 359 (first Batgirl), Batman 232 (first Ra's), Brave & Bold 54 (first Teen Titans), Green Lantern 59 (first Guy Gardner), and Tomb of Dracula 10 (first Blade).

Thank you for all you do! I too agree with your philosophy on collecting valuable comics. Using the Gerber Rarity approach seems to be the 'long game' in collecting valuable comics.

Dear everyone
great to have a conversation that is meaningful
as I said it is a free country and you can buy and collect what you choose
but if you want to have an interesting collection -for my money --the Rarity index is a great start
That way you are not going to see 100 -9.8s- come along and muck up your value and your understanding of what you own.
Great input -keep it up.
