Here are a couple of 1970's goodies both in about 5.5 to 6.5 condition. Interior pages faded quick in the 1970s! Spider-Man battles Dracula! Dracula also later battled the X-Men, but that's another story.

Picked this up recently - first Iron Fist - (I think). Might go up in value if the TV Show/Movie are any good.

Just to show I do have a few old ones, here's a classic copied from the movie of the same name - Gypsy Colt. Simple story back in the day - comic ran on to the interior and exterior of the back cover! And interior of the front cover too. Cover shows wear but interior pages are solid! Better paper in the 1950's that in the 1970's. And them folks could draw them some horses!

Have a good day - comment accepted here...

Marvel Premiere 15 is the first Iron Fist, but it looks like most of his early appearances have seen a bit of a bump in the past year or so. Aaron

I have meant to add to this post more often - especially weekdays at lunc time. I have a new NO FUN policy at work. Internet BAD - Pretending you are doing work, even if you are not - GOOD
Okay, enough whining - no one is listening anyway. I am geek-ed (apparently not a word, since CPG spell check says so), Also I have tried to reduce the size foe they load faster.
Here's My Hot Rods and Racing Cars comics from back in the early 1970's. Dig it!

Here's a socially relevant Iron Man from the 1970's

DC was re-creating the 1930's

Before getting the occasion socially relevant "buddy movie" comic going.

In the late 1970's DC was back to being less socially relevant - doing - what ever the heck this is...
Okay - I have completely gotten away from what I was talking about - but hey - a comic from 1976? Got it! .

What I started to say before I interrupted myself in the last post (how rude) was that I picked up a couple of cool comics yesterday. Here's the first one - some dirt on the cover that I hope will clean up. Holograph looks better in scanner!

Here's a decent condition Millie the Model Comic - very hard to find - folks that have them tend to hang on like a hair in a biscuit... so to speak. Great color on the cover. Art by Stan Goldberg. Written by ...Denny O'Neil?!?. And you wondered what he did before he wrote Green Arrow comics!

Here is one - I picked up some time ago. Never seen in 30 years of collecting comics. Parody comic using term "We're so In, we're out!" a cool saying at the time. Really! Interior of back cover - poster of Herman's Hermits. - Inside front cover - poster of the Rolling Stones - direct from 1966!
Speaking of parody comics - I leave you with a the Stever Gerber classic - arguably the funniest comic of all time - in the mist of the song "Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting" and everything from cooking to leadership being taught in 7 or 8 easy lessons (Just send in you $3.95) . Steve Gerber writes the tale to teach the Alien Duck Kung Fu in 7 easy lessons - in one night!.

Up next time - 1970's monster comics!

I would have to agree about the JLA cover, what is up with that? Bad animals with weapons? Ha, I'd buy it to read no doubt. I am still a sucker for holograph cards and covers. They are just cool looking to me and yep, when flooded by the scanner light they can show very well. One of my favorite holograph card is the skydisc for Batman. They also had it on a cd size disk and it is cool to say the least. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SEALED-1994-DC-Comics-Batman-Promo-Skybox-Dark-Knight-Skydisc-/272246468462?hash=item3f63276f6e:g:5dwAAOSwVcFXO77j http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-1994-Skydisc-Hologram-Skybox-SD1-/361559161014?hash=item542e9af8b6:g:Rm4AAOSwPYZU4uIC
Millie the Model, I just don't get it really. I know some collectors love it and can cost a bunch, just not my deal though. Do you have many? Good writing in them? edited by Jokerbangedquinn on 5/22/2016

Millie represented a "slice of life" of a teenager growing up in the 1960's. (i.e the modern world!). Most early issues were written by Stan Lee. He was also writing Patsy Walker, and at the same - Fantastic Four, Avengers, the occasional Spider-Man, and others too numerous to name. He literally wrote 8 to 10 comics a month. If you lived during that time, it is nostalgic. Think "Andy Griffith Show" - What was it about? - the personality of the characters in their daily life. Millie and Patsy comics have the same type of story.
Cool skydisk - Thanks for sharing the link. .

Thanks for sharing about Millie and Stan's work load. Living at that time period I guess you are right of being nostalgic. Mentioning Andy Giffith Show, that is something brings me back to watching tv with my whole family, a good memory no doubt. What is cool about the skydisc is you move it slowly around and Batman is in the middle of the disc standing with his cowl and he starts to look up at you! Genius.

No comments on my war comics? rather proud of them, even if they are in low grade.
How about some old TV shows? Not the Andy Griffith version, but this was a TV show.

Anyone remember this one from the 1970s? Surprised it is not in syndication.

If I can mix in a comic related movie...

Saved the best for last. They really do NOT make comics like this anymore...

There is a plot underfoot - a cemetery plot! I crack me up. What do you think? edited by kds_comics on 7/18/2016

I only own one Munsters issue and it was funny to read. I just started to buy a few war style books recently, would be easy to get hooked on them from the books I've read. A few I've picked up recently are Weird War Tales, Sgt Fury, and Our Fighting Forces. I really like the cover of GI Combat.

Lots of cool books. What I don't have, I want.
What is the deal with the pic sizes? I can see the full size of TDC in the reply box, and below in the previous messages the pics are also larger. Is just with photobucket? Has anyone tried using flickr?

I think it is just photobucket. CPG pulls from photbucket and crops to fit. Better than when the picture was pouring out the right side of the panel. Okay all - Hit "Reply" to any message above with a picture in it and you will see a bigger picture. It's a feature. edited by kds_comics on 7/22/2016

Here are some odds and ends...
Back in the day Marvel re-printed several comic issues in about a 5" by 7" format and called the "backpack" books. larger than paperback - smaller than trades or comics. Here's one. I guess you could hide it in your backpack and take it to school.

No comment here - just a cool cover.

Continuing with a few miscellaneous Marvel comics - cover coolness,,,

That's all for now. Will post more often if I can get it together.

Its me again. The indefeasible KDS.Godzilla comics in a dealer's $1 box - I'd hit that. So I did. Not in as good of condition as I would have liked, but one can't have everything.

Need I explain these Godzilla - I think they give off the "what the #%$@ ?" value all by themselves..
Here are a couple of better ones for your enjoyment. Significantly more than $1 on these.

Until next time - happy hunting! edited by kds_comics on 9/24/2016
