Wow, your brother has an amazing collection! I wish I had some of those, especially Avengers #1 and Amazing Fantasy #15! Thank you for sharing those pictures on here; I enjoyed looking at some of the issues in his collection as well as the ones in your collection!

He bought a lot of these years ago so he got them at good prices. I keep telling him to get them slabbed but he doesn't care since he doesn't plan on selling them. He has tons of other books but I decided to show the cream of the crop. He also is not a big DC fan. I like collecting both.

Nice slabs DS that Star Wars #1 has paid of big time.
I though the copies i got early last year for $80 was a little to much Lol.

$80 is not bad if they are nice high grade copies. Believe me the movies will go on forever and the more fans jump on those issues will only go up!

Thanks DS, My copy of #1 is around the 8.0-8.5 (good enough for me). My #2 is of a higher grade.
I am also lucky to have a good copy of #107 HTF last copy in the series. Might post it in my back issue thread one day!

Looking at your early post this thread is a hit parade of key issues. Nice! Your slabs are great. I agree with the Star Wars #1, they keep going up in value. I paid $125 for a NM- two years ago to go along with my reading copy of a vf book.
Gil that price wasn't bad for a vf copy.

Well, I am back from the DALLAS COMIC CON FAN DAYS.
What a disappointment. It is starting to become obvious that this becoming SAN DIEGO COMIC CON Wannabe. I talked to several comic retailers and they all said that comics are becoming less important. People are buying trinkets and autographs and fewer comics. That being said I found few dealers willing to lower prices. Perhaps that is why they were not selling.
Anyway, I did manage to pick up a few things. I was on the hunt for bargains and there were not that many to be truthful.

I picked these up. I finally found a great looking copy of GIANT SIZED CHILLERS #1. It was the last day and I picked this baby up for $10. I also picked up EMPIRE OF THE DEAD #1 as a speculation title for $15.

I can't find deals at cons anymore. Parking and getting in is pretty much $100+...
It takes a lot of sweet deals to balance that.

I totally agree! There are fewer and fewer comics dealers and the ones that are there charge way too much! Bargains are becoming harder and harder to find.
