It is usually an error. Not itntentional but with the "software". If one of the worker bees changes a graded price in a certain way it breaks the code and freeze the pricing on some the graded books allowing the raw counterpart to catch up.

That being said sometimes there can be little to no difference in what people will pay for a lower grade raw and graded book. It depends on the title, scarcity and the demand.

Message from Blairg

Hi,

I've noticed a few interesting things about the variance of value between non-graded and graded books on CPG.

Avengers (1960's) #1 and #2 have the standard valuations where everything under about 8.0 is valued the same graded or not. for issues #3 and #4, there is a huge (double) difference between non-graded and graded in any condition.

Does anybody know if this is just an error within CPG, or if this is how the value is actually perceived?

I have found a copy of #4 graded at 3.0 that would actually be an OK price if valued as seen on this site.

Thanks,
Blair
