The Groos are in the VG range, and the rest are in the FN range.
Most of these are 2 per bag, so the issues will be in a kind of mixed order.

Been slowly working on an Indy set. This will give me 13 total.




I read a lot of New Universe books around the time they came out, but they were among the ones I culled in the late 90s. Always wanted to rebuild the set. With these 15, I'll have a total of 19... quite a few more to get.

I graded these about a year ago, and put them on a shelf of ungraded books instead of in a "file away" box. I came across them a couple of weeks ago when I was going through the ungraded books, that have been stacked on top. I knew I had sold some, so I just went through my sales records, and over the past year I've sold 16 of the 47 I put out for sale for $48.40. Only $14.35 to go! (Mostly Superman books left, which I don't seem to move very often, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.smile)

I won all of the ones below for $5.62 each(with s/h) just over 3 years ago. The seller had grades for each one, but his accuracy was sometimes lacking.

Overall, I got the books for just over 1/3 off guide. They were mostly mid-grade, so the total dollar savings were higher than the above lot. I sold 2 books that I got with these, but as these were won in separate auctions, I was largely just buying for myself and not resale... at least not in the short term.

The Bloodshots, Secret Six, and SSM(upgrade), I won as part of a 60 comic lot for $19.86. So about 3 for $1. The rest of the comics went up for sale. Mostly in my $1 bins, which their conditions warranted. Kind of disappointed with the purchase, because of the conditions, but the cost was low enough, that I'm not worried about being able to make my money back. (I've already gotten $2.50.)

They XYR is from the next lot I will be posting.

The Inhumans, I got as part of a mixed lot for which I paid about 30% over guide( the others were nice issues, they were just all low grade books, that I already had). The Defenders were part of an all Defenders lot that I got for less than 1/2 guide. I already have a full run, but these two were upgrades. The extras included #27, the 1st Starhawk.

The total cost to get this collection is $163.86 for what's in there plus $26.00 for the extras I have for sale minus $20.01 for what I've sold, $169.85. Still missing most of the higher priced books, though, so I'm sure that number will jump if I ever truly attempt to complete it. The $1.65 was the for the Top Cat and Yogi comics below. The MTIO was $12. It looks pretty nice, but has a small piece missing on and by the bottom of the spine. It probably happened during production. (I might have graded it too conservatively.)

Anyway on to the next set or rather sets as I won these two lots from the same seller back in March of 2014
Groo (Pacific) #1-8 for $15.99 and Grim Jack #1-2,4-8,10-14 for $7.99 plus $4.50 s/h.

Most of the books for both sets were FN+ with a few slightly higher and a few slightly lower.
So I ended up paying about guide for the Groos and over double guide for the Grims,
but then the Grims have $2 NM value, so I think the one's I got were well worth the $.82 a book I paid. smile

I
already had a better copy Grim Jack #1, but the one and this lot was
signed and dated 5/18/84 by the artists Timothy Truman, which would have
been about the time it was first released, so that's pretty neat.

Didn't start collecting until about 1986. Bought a lot of new books up until 1994. Then I pretty much stopped, and was only buying a few indie titles. Sold about 1/2 of my books(about 4 or 5 long boxes) in 1998. They were all low value books. Started going through my books in about 2008, and that reignited the collecting bug. Since about 2014, it's been pretty off and on. Lately it's been pretty on. I passed the 10,000 mark last month. I'm mainly interested in books from the late 1960s to late 1970s, but I'll pretty much buy anything that strikes my fancy.

I sell a lot of books out of a resale/consignment store that my parents own. Currently, I have over 3,000 books there. I have a few regulars that come by every so often. Occasionally, I drive down to Austin and sell at various events.

I do all of my grading at the store whenever I'm working a shift. There's no scanner there, so I won't be doing much scanning like I did on the old site. I will be posting group pics every so often. I usually wait until I have a few hundred books to file away, so I can take quick pics while I'm sorting them.
