Finally got some awesome 2000A.D. books. These are not as easy to find as you think, most are in crap condition as they are printed on paper that is like tissue paper.
Some are in good condition where others are very fine.
I still think 2000A.D books have the best stories in comics period, Such a wide range from the dark indeed to futuristic. Time travel, Mad characters & Crazy Mutants. The list goes on & on, Oh! & of course the coolest Robots & Covers.

Love this cover as well! I picked up a copy off the newsstand when it first came out. The glow-in-the-dark flames on the cover was what captured my eye. I had the bright idea of trying to use it to scare my older brother one night while he was sleeping. It didn't work, but he did use it as an excuse to beat me up. Lol. Fun times.

I would like all of those House of Mystery books. Those are so difficult to find in great condition.

I'll confess. In 45 years of collecting, I've never seen the series Master of Terror.

An oddball series from the time frame that I did like was Red Wolf. Normally western comics did not appeal to me.

This is sentimental because I remember buying Supernatural Thrillers #2 & War is Hell #1 as a kid. I read the hell out of Supernatural Thrillers #2, so my copy is in poor condition now. I don't think that series was reprints.

I've had all those issues for a long time. Blitzkrieg cost some money. Kubert Nazi comics are fun reading. Love those 70s Marvel horror reprints. The originals are elusive and not cheap. A good way to figure out if you like that type of story without spending $100s per book.

Nice! IN the early 70s Marvel did quite a few horror titles: Chamber of Secrets, Chamber of Chills, Where Creatures Roam, Where Monsters Dwell, etc.

Nice pick ups Gil. The Spider-Man book as you mentioned has a nice cover art. Nice to see you are still seeking second and later printings. Hope you are doing well.

When I bought most of my Marvel Comics Presents books they were in the dollar boxes or less but that was 15 20 years ago. Maybe most ended up in the dollar boxes and got handed over the years. Maybe where Gil lives down under there aren't many copies to be found.

I just picked up that Byrne GN as well! Haven't read it yet, just on my list of things to buy in Silver Surfer collection.

ASM 430, 431 are pretty great.

Nice books Gil. X-Men 24 cover I always liked, big fan of Gambit Rogue love story besides them being cool heroes. Looks like your ASM 300 is really sharp. I still don't own that issue. Batman 423 is a really sweet looking cover.

I'm never sure what to do with those bagged comics. I know most of them are not worth much, but I don't want to risk being wrong about what to do with them. I know the bags decay and can damage the comic and if you don't open them, you can't read them, but... Is removing them from the bag damaging it? I have a bunch that I've opened and kept the bag on the other side of the board...

And yes, Carnage is really starting to take off. When I was starting to get my ASM run, I was told to look for 3 or 4 issues that are becoming harder and harder to find, but aren't expensive. #410, where Carnage fights Ben Reilly, #429-430 where Carnage fights Silver Surfer, and the Maximum Carnage issues. So, yeah, good call on going for the Maximum Carnage issues. The non-ASM issues may not go as high, but they'll still do OK, I think.

Nice HCs! I love trades and HCs. They have been the fastest growing format in my collection. My four drawer legal filing cabinet, two drawer letter filing cabinet, two three foot book shelves and several stacks on top and beside the filing cabinets are cover with them in. There are a number of series I collect only in trade or HC.

I hope you are right about uncanny 244 being a sleeper of a book. I got 8 copies of it in varies grades. In the late 90's I would pick them up when I'd see them cheap. Still a cheap 1st appearance seeing how things are now.
I really enjoyed the writing between Wolverine and Jubilee in the 90's Xmen and Wolverine books in the 90's. They had a great story going for them. Didn't enjoy her becoming a vampire though.

Warrior #1 isn't just the 1st app of V for Vendetta, it is the first appearance of Alan Moore's superhero deconstruction tale, Marvel Man - it was the return of Marvel Man, Alan Moore style. He became Miracle Man for American audiences (and probably to quell any problems with Marvel Comics).

1st Nick Fury as SHIELD Agent...and 1st SHIELD and Hydra!!! AWESOME!!!!!

I have never seen a copy of number 2. Which also graces a cover by Steranko. I have both reprints of them (Masters of Terror) Magazine.

I have to get better pictures, but I believe my #1 is upper grade (but perhaps not high grade).

I saw a copy of that Supernatural Thrillers #1 at a con a few months back from a great seller. Ended up buying some of the Sterenko X-Men instead. I keep wondering if I should have tried to cut a better deal and add one more comic to the bundle. Didn't realize that it was a hard issue to find. You have a whole whack of cool issues there, Gil.
