We would need a title box on the submission form in addition to what is already on the missing issues for series.
edited by pittlw on 8/29/2025

Didn't know you didn't know about the missing issue submission link, after all the posts mentioning it by now. But it could be moved farther up the page so it's easier to see, and the Site's FAQ page, which no one reads cuz it's buried in the About menu, needs to be updated to state there's a Report Missing Issue link, and how/for what it can be used. FAQs page needs to be updated for other things too, like the image format types.
As for "...so we can submit missing series titles and one-shots?" I guess they could add a form for that too, saving people posting to the forum, which the admins say they don't visit a lot, not sure why it wouldn't work the same as the other 'missing whatever' forms.
edited by collectibleshop on 8/29/2025

One of the 2 Fernandez covers is listed here: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/street-fighter-unlimited/1-RI-B/piywoxt . I finally found the other cover and have submitted it as a missing variant, so they'll get to it when they get to it. And yeah, they should add his name to the subtitle. lot of that happening with new issues lately, dunno who's not doing that data point.
I also submitted the Dr Strange variant, as I said you could do, so hopefully they'll add that soon too.
and the Missing Issue form is working again, at least for me, for today, so hope that sticks around.
Don't you have a scanner? if so, it really helps speed things up if you provide pics. If the comic is a variant of something that the database has, they prefer you submit it using the Report Missing Variant form as noted previously. If it's a missing issue that has a title listing here, then you use the Report Missing Issue link/form at the bottom right column of the SERIES listing, that gets the info in the admins queue faster than posting on the forum.
If there's no series or it's a missing 1-shot with no other listing, then you report that on this forum and attach a pic and provide the publisher, cover price, and creators info. For submission standards, pics need to be cropped to the edge of the comic, out of the bag, no camera pics unless they're really good and squared up, and size them down to 700 to 900 pixels high these days.

edited by collectibleshop on 8/29/2025

Yes, a way to post missing issues that don't have a database slot. Because the instructions now is to post it on the missing issues forum.

To make it more close to home, have that request on the publisher page, same as what we do now on the variants, but we would have to put the title in there as well.
edited by pittlw on 8/23/2025

I think he's asking to have a report link on the Publisher's pages. Not sure why that would save admins time. I'm not sure what he means by "don't have a title avenue" unless that means when the publisher isn't listed either? The biggest problem lately is that the Report Missing Issue form has not been working, but I haven't tested it in a couple weeks, maybe it got fixed. it was saying it 'can't add it to the queue' yadda yadda, for a while now. been reported a few times. that's why people have been posting missing issues on the forum instead.
so pittlw, please explain a bit more what you're asking, thanks.
edited by collectibleshop on 8/22/2025

The next step would be providing a way to post missing issues and variants that don't have a title avenue.

If a link could be made to post new issues or variants via the publisher page, that could save a lot for admins. I have at least a dozen issues that I have requested on this forum Missing Issues that have not been given a listing spot on the database. I have a stack about 6 inches high of more that I haven't submitted because I don't know if they will get taken care of. I know, small publishings are looked at last.

I think CS has the right idea. Only a few of us monitor the forums much (there's tech support for technical issues and tools for things like submitting covers and variants). Only specific admins can add new issues or variants, so using the tool gives them a central place to see new variants and verify/add them.

can't help with the Cycles End, but the league has a pic of the Dr Strange comic at https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/4643989/doctor-strange-mystic-apprentice-1?variant=5523254

you can copy that and submit it using the Report Missing Variant link on the comic's CPG listing. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/doctor-strange-mystic-apprentice/xnrtl . Click the Variants tab, then the little flag that says Report Missing Variant, and you'll get a form to fill out. Lately the form isn't confirming the submission, and when you check it on the comic's listing afterward by clicking Variants and scroll down, you should see the submission pending. But it's not been showing the image there on the left side like it should, yet another bug. Keep checking that page to see when the variant has been added.
this is how CPG prefers people to submit variants as opposed to posting about them. See this post: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=18278
and for future reference-- if you need to post about a missing issue/variant, please attach a pic from somewhere. also include creator info like cover artists at least.
Guidelines post at the top of the forum: https://comicspriceguide.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=8
the more info you can provide, the faster they can get stuff found or listed. thanks.
edited by collectibleshop on 8/14/2025
edited by collectibleshop on 8/26/2025
