Message from glorkar

Has anyone else been watching Velma on HBO Max? Curious to hear what others think of it.
In my opinion, it's just okay. The animation itself is fine. The whole premise of changing virtually everything about an established universe is where I get hung up a bit.
The race swapping is a bit odd and unnecessary in my opinion. If it didn't impact the story telling, it'd be one thing. But there was a race related joke which makes it a bit of a thing. The joke was about Fred getting help from Velma with his Spanish homework because he thought she was Mexican.

Also, what's with sober Shaggy? And no Scooby?

I don't know. It just feels like they could have done things with new characters and it would have been just as good, if not better.
