That "9.0" could look a lot better if it were cleaner. Yeah those glue bindings from the mid 1970's are really difficult to keep nice. Spine roll is really difficult and the 'wear factor' is very high on the glue binding, on top of the original state not being super accurate to begin with. The staple bindings had a higher degree of accuracy than the glue bindings, it seems to me.

I just picked up a 9.4 Batman Family #6 (with Duella Dent, aka (at that time) The Joker's Daughter) and it was not cheap. I do agree with you.

Before COVID, I was attending maybe a dozen shows a year, attempting to complete better grade runs. So I go thru every dealers wall and boxes for higher grade books.


100 pagers are getting harder and harder to find in better grade. When they surface in high grade, I see them selling for high prices. I don't monitor or record data. This is just a hobby.

However after looking at pictures of the book in the last link, it seems the seller has over graded it. So the sell price is for a book in lower grade than listed.
