That's an odd one as far as the Batman Beyond appearance, as it is both very incorrect, and correct from a certain point of view. The first comic book appearance of Batman Beyond was in 1999, but that version was never really considered part of the main DCU continuity. The character was temporarily considered part of the Earth-12 alternate reality DCU. Supes/Bat Annual #4 is the first appearance of Batman Beyond in the main DCU continuity. From what I can find, no matter the version his name is Terry McGinnis. At the end of the day I suppose naming a first appearance is a matter of semantics and which version of Batman Beyond you wish to reference.

As for the increased value? The book does seem to be recently selling between $30 and $60, with graded versions going between $50 and $150. I'm not sure of the Artgerm cover has anything to do with it. That would have been one of his earlier DC covers.

The N/M price listed above is $8. People are claiming it is the first appearance of Batman Beyond, but I don't see that designation on this site or on any CGC graded copies. Might need to keep an eye on that. I believe the book had gone higher and came down a bit.
