Its so much easier to just press one button and put pre determined values on everything. I sell hot wheels and matchbox cars, trading cards and other collectibles and it seems all I do is research research and research some more on values. Its kinda nice to have it set. My gut tells me to research them. I just want to know if I am foolish for going on automatic. I sound like I rookie. This is the first time selling comics but I had been collecting for over 30 years then someone stole my whole collection I have been kicking rocks ever since that. I just cant get over it! GRRRR. So what I have left are just the ones I forgot about in my closet. It pains me to even think about my collection. I hope they are being taken care of. Yea right. hehe Being taken care of at the nearest place to sell them. I wish you have a more blessed path in the future.

For more expensive comics I check Overstreet prices, one another guide site and a big online retailer. (Message me if you need the details). There is some difference of opinion on comics from the 1960's and 1970's - usually in mid to lower grades. Different Guides use different formulas and can arrive at slightly different prices. I find eBay is a poor indicator because of the "free" listing - you can list what ever you want for what ever price you want - too much stuff there that never sells. Big stores with employees doing nothing all day seem to do this simply for the free advertisement value. Just IMHO. This way I can review the most recent prices that the comic I'm looking for has actually sold for and not basing it on what people are trying to get out of them.

I also had my life's collection stolen!! My whole childhood of collecting all gone in one day...or night!
Although as an adult (with my wife's encouragement and help) I started collecting again with a vengeance and have 5 times what I had before, I still get my panties in a wad thinking what probably happened to all my Amazing Spider-man, Captain America, Incredible Hulk, etc.
Sorry, didn't have anything to add to help.....Rysin's story made vent....

I don't know about the other sites but I can answer for CPG. If you look at the value change page you can see that we've made over 200 price adjustments recently. (That only includes raw, ungraded books.) We are working hard to follow the market and report on it. Plus we have fantastic premium and free members who are watching prices as well. When they see something is moving up or down they tell us. It's a huge group effort.

About selling, if you are a gold member you can sell all the books you have for just the membership fee. We have no listing fees, closing cost fees, etc. There are people who make their living by selling on our site. To me, it makes sense to sell here as well.
All the best,
R
