I can't find any reason why it would be worth that much. New character? Incredibly low print run?

Major cleavage would be the right answer. I know this one comic shop owner that told me every statue he orders of Power Girl that shows extreme cleavage is sold immediately. Now this phenomenon has crossed over to the comic books.

If it was, the issues 1, 1A, 2, 3A, 4A, 8, 9, 14, 18, 20, and 24 would all also be >$200. And #20 ESPECIALLY, moreso than #27.

Well, it looks like I'm going to be updating my want list with a few more books.

I was at a Half Price bookstore this morning and I saw the trade paperback for Power Girl called Old Friends with the cover that is worth all that mucho money for the comic book. The trade paperback had the same cover and was priced at $25, $5 over the cover price. There was also a different Power Girl trade paperback there and it was going for only $8. I can only think of two reasons for this dissimilarity in the pricing of the two trade paperbacks of Power Girl.

The cleavage is only part of the cost but the fact that the print run cannot meet demand pushes the value up even more. If there were 30-50+K of this issue then the realized values would be lower.

Boobs/cleavage has been a big seller for many decades.

Sssh.. don't tell Sclingerman about Suicide Squad #16, cover B, which came out today. Otherwise, we'll have to explain it to him all over again.

Well, I can see if it was a really low print run, but the explanation of "It has cleavage!" don't work since many of the other issues in that title have the same or even more. It'd be like saying ASM #596 is worth hundreds of dollars because it has webbing.

I know you weren't being seriously insulting. But if it DID have a low print run like oxbladder suggested, it would explain why this one... and not any of those others... is so much.

And best comment goes to dmting.

Two days ago when I was looking at the Lyria Exchange, which shows the eBay activity for comic auctions, it had a copy of Power Girl # 27 with a grade of 9.8 that sold for $375.
